Loudcivic
Wait, really? Most likely the last couple of loops on your coil came unwound. it might look like this Okay, maybe not that bad, but you get the point. Or, yeah, could just be a loose dust cap, a little CA glue or gorilla glue along the dust cap would work then. is this a lanzar sub from back in the day? op: try doing wut boon said. if you have a rc car hobby shop in town were your at they have ca glue you can buy instead of ordering it online and waiting for it. JEMT8
Are they a paper/card dustcap or plastic? If they're plastic you can go around it really carefully with a razor blade, you just want to break the glue between the cone and the cap, not cut either. Then clean off as much of the glue as you can, scuff up both surfaces a bit then glue it back on. But yeah, sounds like an air leak. The dustcap is not an entirely uncommon place to get one either. EDIT: You can even re-glue it in place. Just get a tube of that very liquid clear superglue with the super fine tip and run it around the edge of the dustcap. Capillary action will pull it into any holes. Yeah, They are plastic. Jacob had actually suggested this as an alternative to sending it in to him. Kind worried of screwing something up and poking a hole in the cone or something that wouldn't be covered. I have very unsteady hands. lol. I'll look into this though. it seems like the dust cap is mostly off around the edges around most of the way around so i can't imagine this would be too difficult. OP: if it's just your dust cap, try to pry it off with a butter knife, or something else that is dull so you won't have to worry about poking a hole in the cone. Quote Need Test Tones/Sine Waves?
