bass_stalker
ok i know you guys are probably getting a little annoyed with my ice chest radio questions but here is my question.i currently have a lawnmower battery powering a 300 watt amp and a dual media receiver and it'll play all the way up on 42 for about 30 mins. my question is if i buy a car battery would it play any longer. also can you suggest any ways for me to conserve power. i have a video of it posted on the main site and i will post a link to it Quote JEEP BUILD PROJECT ANTIBLING.2000 jeep Cherokee.HEADUNITAlpine Cda-9886SUBSTAGE1 acendent 18" audio mayhem motor with a TI basket and tantric parts1 prototype DAT hellfire 1000.1HIGHSStockELECTRICALdb link 0 gaugeKnuconceptz Kolossus 4 gauge1 xs power d3400 under hoodBig 3 upgradeold fourwheeler build The only way to delete your SMD account is for you crawl to steve meades door step on your knees and pleade for his forgiveness and acceptance to be released...He will either grant your wishes.....or choke you with a large piece of 0 gauge and electrocute you by hooking up a solid gold DC 12k at 0.000001 ohm and 10000 volts to your eye sockets and blow your head apart You guys act like you have never clogged a toilet and ran around the bathroom frantically hoping it don't overflow. skittlesRgood
ya, if your running the battery dead each time i would say a optima yellow top since its a deep cycle. but your going to kill any battery if you do that. looks like you have room for a G31 battery. should last a while longer. obviously that amp is whats using up most of the power. without it the battery should last hours. oh, last thing. a clipped signal uses a hell of a lot more current. and with all the boost settings you are using... full volume... ya, you ARE clipping the shit out of it. bass_stalker
the way i usually run the radio is with the bass boost off. bass set to -7 and treble set to 4 with volume 42. i think it is like a 165 amp battery. and it plays for like 30 minutes or so. i have seen other radios on you-tube that have amps in them that can play for a few hours. and yes before the amp i played the radio for like a week of riding before the battery went dead.oh lastly i'm not running the battery completely dead. it starts at about 12.4 volts then after 30 mins or so it drops down to 11. something volts and then radio and amp shuts off Edited October 12, 2010 by bass_stalker Quote JEEP BUILD PROJECT ANTIBLING.2000 jeep Cherokee.HEADUNITAlpine Cda-9886SUBSTAGE1 acendent 18" audio mayhem motor with a TI basket and tantric parts1 prototype DAT hellfire 1000.1HIGHSStockELECTRICALdb link 0 gaugeKnuconceptz Kolossus 4 gauge1 xs power d3400 under hoodBig 3 upgradeold fourwheeler build The only way to delete your SMD account is for you crawl to steve meades door step on your knees and pleade for his forgiveness and acceptance to be released...He will either grant your wishes.....or choke you with a large piece of 0 gauge and electrocute you by hooking up a solid gold DC 12k at 0.000001 ohm and 10000 volts to your eye sockets and blow your head apart You guys act like you have never clogged a toilet and ran around the bathroom frantically hoping it don't overflow. bass_stalker
well the problem is i use it on the four wheeler that's why i play it so loud. so that's why i cant run a charger on it. another option i was considering was buying a second battery then running it in parallel would that double the amount of time i can play it for?.
