Maroon97SL
Lately my lights have been dimming bad when stopped at a stop sign, stop light etc. When im driving my lights are fine. I didn't think a RF prime 500-1 could make my lights dim this bad, but it wasn't always like this. Do i need to get a new alternator and put a second battery in my car? do i have a bad ground on my amp? should i do the big 3? Guest
alternator cant output enough current to keep everything happy. hence the voltage drop. stop playing full tilt at stop signs or get hid's. a free option and a paying option

moetpoppin
you need atleast 4 batteries and 3 HO alts to fix this problem man.... but yes, start off doing the big 3 if youre concerned Quote TY Moet poppin', hoe hoppin', aint no stoppin' B.I.G. poppa, I'm a bad boy Party and Bullshit - The Notorious B.I.G. Bumpin the TWP
you need atleast 4 batteries and 3 HO alts to fix this problem man.... but yes, start off doing the big 3 if youre concerned with just a RF prime 500-1 you can easly run off a stock alt. just get another battery, for just that you would be fine with your stick bat and maybe a Kinetic HC600 Quote 2x Sundown Audio SA-15's nuff said for my little old car 1999 Plymouth Breeze Build Log
MrSkippyJ
sounds like your alt is going bad, just get it tested and if it is bad, get a stock replacement. Guest
could be a loose connection. check all connections before doing all that work in taking out the alt and taking it to a store.

Yup. My alt + bolt came loose and was sparking on the run of 1/0 to the bat. I kept wondering why my voltage would go into the 10's every now and then, and then saw it one night when I opened the hood. tightened that back down and voltage went back to 14.5.
