Hey guys im looking at buying a 75 c10 and i found something a little questionable. I didnt get to get to in depth with the first inspection but i did find that it has straight 6 with a 3 speed tranny. i cranked the truck and was amazed at how smooth sounding and quiet the engine was compared to nearly every other car ive been around, even without a muffler the thing is very quiet. The only problem i had was that it seemed to idle up a little bit and then started to drop like it was going to stall any ideas as to what might be wrong (i was able to keep it from stalling by reving it a little).

Maybe try adjusting the idler screw, Typical old trucks like to rev around 750-950 or so, Bad timing can cause low revving, Bad gas etc.

thanks for the reply i was thinking it was a timing issue but not sure and im far from mechanically smart lol.

carb's fouled. incorrectly set idler screw. vacum leak. timing chains in a ohv can't really "jump" timing, unless he fucked up installing it

yeah that id clean the carb first thing.

while you're checking things, check the vacuum advance. they're really easy to check.
