02 Trailblazer LTZ Box/Subs

Recommended Posts

I traded in my 99 Durango and bought a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer LTZ with 93k miles. It dosnt have as much room ft^3 wise as my Durango had but it it is soo much better. I'm not sure what type of subs I should get. Should I get a few small subs say 8 10's, 6 12's or should I go for power handling like 2 18's problem is Im not sure if I have the space for 2-3 18's. Should I go for cone aera or power handling??

Measure up your total volume you are willing to use and go from there.

I can fit a min of 12.8ft^3 I'm not sure on the max but after I get out of school I can get an exact measurement and a sketch up model for you.

Yeah, not much can fit under the windowline. I've had two 15s & two 18s in mine. Now I'm moving on to six twelves. It's going to be a tight fit with two batteries, two Sundown 3000s, and four front stage amps.

Edit: Wow, just realized I've never posted here...lol.

6 12s or 8 10s will have more power handling than 2 18s. and more cone area.

a bigger diameter cone has nothing to do with power handling. but with more subs youll have more coils to dissipate heat
