Need ADVICE!...ON electrical upgrades

Hi, my names Trevor i have been on the forum for about 2 years and have learned so much from everyone on here, i would not nearly as much as i do with out this site... THANK YOU, Steve and all the moderators!

Anyways i wanna finally do the BIG 3 on my 2004 saturn ion and need some advice

Im running a stock alternator pushing 120 amps as im told .. whats the maximum fuse size i can run with out problems?

How do i make a fuse holder thats protected?

I have eighty feet of knu konceptz alum clad 1/0 it is rated at 250 Amps.

I also have a hc 1200 that im going to install does anyone know how to make a battery holder?

and last question i have about 600 dollars to spend for an amp i need at least 1200 watts at 2 ohms! My mtx 81000d died after 3 years of abuse.

so should i get a SUNDOWN or a RF-CP amp?

i fill like the Constant Power is just a marketing scheme, like the big rubber boots on the P1's, what do you guys think?

I LOVE how they scroll. They are smooth and don't "click." Bass knobs cause clipping which kills your sub if the clipping is too bad. The SA knob is a gain knob which lowers the gain/input sensitivity. It can't clip your sub if the gain knob is tuned correctly

yes they do scroll very nice,yeah i have heard that. i do love my sundown 125.4 it is running my subs on 200 watts and is bumpin pretty nicely sounds way better the the MTX piece of SHIT, just need more power now!

You do not have to worry about your alternator amperage for fusing a power wire. You said you are using the KnuKonceptz KLMX wire (copper clad wire), and the amperage rating for that wire is 250 amps. So 250 amps would be a perfect fuse size.

I prefer the use of ANL Fuses and Fuse holder when using 1/0gauge wiring.

If your planning on using the Kinetik HC1200 in the rear of your vehicle as a rear battery in addition to your front battery you should use 2 fuses to fully protect your power wire running from front to back.

You should have 1 fuse within 12 inches of the front battery, and 1 fuse within 12 inches of the rear battery.

As for a battery tray, you have lots of options!!

You can either go and buy one that will fit your batteries dimensions, I know XS Power has a good selection. http://4xspower.com/products/accessories/

Or you can make one out of wood which is what a lot of people end up doing. But since you have a nicer Kinetik AGM sealed battery, mounting possibilities are just about endless for it since you can mount them anyway you want. Stand them up right, lay them on their side, tuck them away in the spair tire well etc.

I run my d3100s between my speaker box and my rear seats in my truck, its a nice tight fit so they dont go anywhere.

As for amps, its a tough decision!

The RF CP amps are to be nice or so I hear, but they have a pretty price tag to go with them!

I am really loving these 2 Sundown SAZ-4500s I have!

I think a Sundown SAZ-2500D would be a Great choice in an amplifier for your needs!

And if you ever upgrade your woofers in the future you can get a pair of subs with dual 4ohm coils to run the sundown 2500 @ 1 ohm for its full potential!

A Pair of audioque 1200s strapped together and wired at a 2 ohm strapped load should give you a solid 2400wrms or so for $500

HAha yes i did watch your video it was quite good, it amazes me how deceiving rf is makes me feel its all about the money rather then the product or customer.

Thanks for the advice on fuses these are some great options, I will order some holders and put 250 in the front running from my alternator.. I also will defitaly be using a gromet..

Ok so wood would be my best option then cause i dont wanna spend 100 bucks on a bat holder.. Ill have to figure how to do that.

I want my bat to be in the spare tire well so in needs to be held down..
