I think it would be better to fill the box with smoke (while all woofers are mounted and connected). When the smoke is coming out of the port, put on the install and turn up the volume. Since the air stays in the port (going in and out as much as the x-max of your woofers) You should clearly see the smoke/air in the port and should NOT twirl around the port by turbulence. I hope you understand my explaination... AMI CUSTOMS Posted October 28, 2010 Author Report Share Posted October 28, 2010 (edited) We didn't see the air twirl around the port, we saw turbulence on the edge of the port wall to the side of the enclosure, there is about a 1 inch gab on the far right side of the enclosure between the port wall and side of the enclosure and the air was pocketing forward and coming back against itself, creating turbulence. If that makes sense. We did not just test the air/smoke in one direction, but the direction that the air would pressure from the woofers loading.
