i would go with port back or port to the drivers side. either one is going to help the sound of them a lot in my opinion. i think that alone will get u closer to the results your after.make the box taller and give u some room from the back hatch and put port back, or keep the box close to the hatch build it taller and make it narrower adn put port to the side. all u can do now is build different boxes and see which works the best. bu i think subs up port to the side or back would def be way better than with the port up, in my blazer port up just never sounded right at all. good luck man and nice build!!!

alrite, well ill give the other options a shot first. guess ima prlly gonna be building a new box anyways but mite as well try. probably wont go up to the full 31, keep it around 26-28 ish. what would you recommend for the sub and port positioning?

ok driver side vs back. i can do the full 31 inches depth if i do it to one of the sides. theres several inches of clearance on either side. would you recommend any one in particular. im in college right now and dont have too much time to build boxes. especially since i have to spend 1.5 hours driving to and back from where i would have to work. thanks first setup/box ive built. just wish it woulda turned out better lol.

If you are gonna make the box alot taller, then port and subs forward, like a wall, but if you are only going up a few inches, then subs up, port back all the way at the bottom of the box.

just went out and took some measurements. clearance for fitting the box in is around 31 so ill probably do 28. thing is if i do subs forward port forward ill have to cut down on the depth.

ok so im thinking 38 width, 30 depth (31 was a tighhttt squeeze), 28 height. thatll give me 16 cubes before any displacement. ill probably get started on the box this weekend then. seems like the one i have is kinda hopeless. could i still do subs up with those dimensions? then port side or forward. anyone wanna help me figure out port size? *ahem* ami customs *ahem* you seem like you know what youre doing with the kickers.

the trunk opening is 32 inches tall. inside is an inch or two taller. i dont think im up to building the box inside the car quite yet lol.
