What will be the easiest way to do this? I heard that people just buy the black vinyl and cover the emblem instead of painting it. But I'm not sure what I want to do. And to paint it you just have to sand it clean it and paint then clear coat but I don't have the best luck with painting lately lol.

i've NEVER heard of vinyl on the grill emblem

just pull it off, sand it so the paint sticks, wipe it off with DENATURED alcohol (not rubbing alcohol)give it a quick spray, let dry a few minutes, give it another quick spray, if you need another few coats hit it at this point with some fine sand paper (800 or more) then hit it again

the whole process on such a small piece will take you an hour or so.

sand and paint is best way, easiest way is the vinyl trick and I have seen/heard/know of lots of people that do the vinyl trick, just takes minutes or less to do. Paint will take more time, but not much more and looks better.

Take the bowtie off, then take some 800 grit sand paper to it (be careful not to sand down the curve...), then hit it with some primer to make sure its smooth, hit with more sanding if its neccessary, then two light coats of what ever color your using, then a medium coat, then a few coats of clear and you should be good!

should have two screws in the back holding it down. will be alot easier than having to tape the whole grill from over spray

this was mine, it was a wasted of time because my grill would pop in a second and a minute to take the screws out from behind the emblem. i know mines a gmc but they cant be too much difference between them

i tinted mine, front and back

Yeah my grill is held in by like 4-6 screws couldn't really see em all and yeah the emblem is held in by 2 screws also. I'm just trying to figure out if I should try to sand down my grill or I should buy a new one -_-
