Ok I have the WORST ground noise ever going on..... Here is what I have and have done to try and fix, I'm looking for any hints or someone to point out what I have forgotten to try..

Ok it's an 03 ford explorer with awd and the flex fuel 4.0

system is Alpine cda-105, cadence ultra drive 600 4 channel, and 2 sets of infinity 6.5 components (cant remember model number) Knukoncepts 4 gauge power and ground both ran to bat, big 3 done with 4 guage knu. All on stock alt since no subs are being ran...(wifes car, she sucks) Monster cable rca cables.

Ok now i've tried to ground the rca's, also tried to run ground and power straight to battery, replaced alternator, ran ground about 6 inches from amp, and now i'm out of ideas and this is by far

the loudest most annoying ground noise EVER.

Try a different set of RCA's also try hooking up a portable device like an Ipod directly to the amp to see if you still have noise.

I have a 03 Mountaineer same as explorer and I have no issues. I am thinking it is either radio or RCA's

Mosters cables are new, had knukoncepts in there to begin with, and have a new hu comming, it's a kenwood 945 because alpine is on back order until Dec, but gonna try the ipod thing. thanks man

running a set of test rca's is the cheapest, even if they are new I had issues with bad rcas in the box.

ground the outside metal on the rca at the amp with a piece of wire, see if it goes away

on second set of rca's and tried grounding both sets at hu and amp already

try checking the wire of each speaker. i had TERRIBLE alt wine until one day i couldnt take it and checked everything i possibly could. turns out that the ground connecting to my speaker was being pinched. straightened it out (literally) and have had no problems with alt wine since.

Started gutting the seats out of my suburban tonight to yank out the rca's.....perfect excuse to start my new build, so I'll do another set of rca which i know are good, that kenwood 945, new ground to hu, and strip doors back down to sound dampening. if i don't get this figured out soon wife is going to run me over lol. I have the next 2 days off so if anyone has seen this please help =)..

I'll let ya know what it is once i figure it out.

Found the culprit, apparently on explorers with the oem cd/tape there are 2 grounds to the hu, well it creates a ground loop right at the hu and thats where it gets supah ground noise from...or did in my case. I cut it and resoldered it back together and all is good with the world again....
