its up and playing! not moving much air and not much pressure though any ideas why? box is sturdy, doing great with the bracing i had, nothings moving at all.

does hit the lows very well though. sounds a lot different than the 4 l7's. still need to add the 4 6x9's, 4 tweeters and make it pretty. was too dark for me to really get good pics/vid. ill try and get some more pics and maybe a vid up tomorrow. i used whatever wires i had laying around so yes it is sloppy/dirty but please dont crucify me over it tomorrow lol. just ran stuff to wherever it would reach/shit-rigged things so i could get it playing.

very nice basic build!! and with not super high end product! i love clam shells but sucks that it doesnt move air!!

i dont think im giving them enough power. sundown 3500 @ .5. dc power 270xp. 3 d3100's. subs are 300 rms each. maybe add another 3500 or possibly switch to a crescendo 5500 when it comes out.

wired out of phase? maybe not enough angle on the baffle.

is it "loud"?

i would rather redesign the just add power.

try a 4th order. do 1 cube per 12 sealed. leave the rest ported. and just find the tuning by adjusting the port till u are happy.

just drove out out of town and listened for about an hour. its definitely louder than the l7s, shakes the car a lot more, hits quite a bit harder. i can feel it in my ears a lot more than the l7s. only thing is that it doesn't move as much air. (previous setup was 4 l7 12's in a big ass box, 24-25 gross i think, tuned to 29-30) checked the wiring while i was out there, everything is wired correctly. im not sure about the angle being a factor, for some reason after all the reading i did i kind of thought it wouldn't be that big of a deal. as for the fourth order, well i dont really know much besides the general design. more research and reading for me ill probably leave this for a bit, see if i can tweak or something. probably look into changing things around after i graduate this december. either way i dont think the one amp i have is giving enough power to the subs regardless of the box so redesign or not ill most likely be adding more power eventually.

still gets quite a bit louder at full tilt. didnt have max in the vid, voltage drops pretty fast at idle. maybe ill make one tomorrow pressing down the pedal or something.

this is really frustrating. dammit air, moveee!!!! with this much cone area its pissing me off that theres hardly any air movement and very little pressure.

ok i just got an idea. no idea if this will help or not, input would be wonderful seeing as theres not much i can do to tweak the box right now, the only two options i can see happening is either sealing the box up which i dont see how that would help with the air movement issue at all or i could do this.

sketch up wasnt cooperating so i just used paint.

so basically take out the side of the box outlined by blue and stick some bracing in where the red is. think that would help at all? thanks all!
