so Ive had my XL 15" for a few weeks now, it sounds good but i just feel like it could be a lot louder i have my aq2200 set at 2000 watts right now (44.7 volts @ 1ohm if i did my math right) and my sub hardly moves at all im not sure what to do get some batt bank and see if that helps my clipping so i can turn it up louder or does it call for more POWA?

What kind of vehicle? Any type of electrical upgrades at all?

The XL can take more but an AQ2200 should be nice. Box specs? Also, if the sub is still new its going to be pretty stiff.

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

Sounds to me like it isn't set right, 44 volts ac would be likily around 20 amp so that is only ~900 watts real power, bump it up some.

from reading your signature, you only have a stock battery? im guessing you have some massive voltage drop... i run a stock 96amp alt with a kinetik hc1400 under the hood and a hc2000 in the trunk and drop into the low 12's at idle but it stays above 13volts on the highway.. normally around 13.4 at full tilt...

ive got some decent battery power but if your running just the stock battery then ill bet your voltage is dipping down below 12volts quite easily...

voltage drop will make the amp clipp... meaning less clean power... i keep a close eye on the clip light on the bass knob... light flickering is Fine... but if its lighting up then you need to back off of it a little

upgrade your electrical, then i would turn her up a little more...i have mine set up to i can have some flickering on the clip light and she will blast ALL day (well i have the AQ 3500s) but don't let her sit on the solid red...especially w no electrical upgrades...i honestly wouldn't play it UNTIL you AT LEAST change the battery under the hood. your risking the amp and the sub

02 accord lx no electrical upgrades yet just a beefy 0ga ground from the stock batt, box is 3.5 cubes at 35Hz

hmm not sure i thought i read on here that was right, and if i used a 45hz test tone to set the amp with a dmm i had to turn up the lpf so would i turn my lowpass back down after its set

No, he is right watts = Volt Squared divided by ohms.

44.7 * 44.7 / 1 = 1998.09

Might want check you dc resistance with a vom to make sure it at 1 ohm. Cause if its at 2 ohms or more your cutting your power in half.
