garrett_a
I picked up a stetsom 1k5h ( http://www.stetsom.com.br/eng/DetalhesProduto.aspx?c=8064&cat=172 )and Iam having issues with it. I cannot run it with the vehicle running, if I run the vehicle the amp goes on protection and blinks 4 times indicating battery alarm tension over 16volts. My truck at the alternator and at the amp reads anywhere from 14.5-14.7volts. I was told the amp will cut out at 14.6 ... My truck is a 1997 gmc 1500, factory alternator, new battery. So what if my truck charges at that as stock? Get a new amp? Waste of 600$ in my opinion if I cant even use it while driving.
AMI CUSTOMS
Turn your ac and headlights and every electrical thing you can think of in order to lower the voltage and see if the amp works, if it is still saying over voltage then something wrong with the amp. TeamHT
Isn't that like a 1500 watt amp? $600 for 1500watts.......maybe someone like team dc derrick who uses stetsom might have suggestions. I've never used stetsom yet but was thinking of trying the 7k... Check your grounds? Wires? What's the ohm load at? Quote Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you? Guest
power tension is 9-15v it says, not 16v. and thats one small ass fucking amp that outputs 1800rms try hooking it up straight to a battery thats not in your vehicle. if 12-13v trips the protection, amp might be fubar'd. call up Stetsom. ALPINE408
If it's the new version of Stetsom the 12 volt ones they go into protect at 14.5 to 14.6 volts If it's an older version you have other problems there are also 2 ohm and 1 ohm versions if you have a 2 ohm amp running 1 ohm it will give you problems as well Quote Have you ever had your woofers blown? AMI CUSTOMS
He said it works with the truck off so I would contact stetsom anyway. garrett_a
I did have it in anouther vehicle, it had a poor battery and was on a 50-60amp tube fuse and would blow easily so the a,mp sat more than it was used, I could bearly listen to it with that setup. I was hoping once I got a newer vehicle that had some decent power and barrery, did the big 3 and what not it would work fine but its the exact opposite. Have it running x2 lvl 3 dc`s 4 ohm voicecoils. When I purchased the subs I was told to wire to the wiring option #1 in the link http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp?submitted=true&woofer_qty=2&woofer_imp=
