how would i know if my battery's are bad

and when i first got my car 2 to 3 weeks later my stock battery died on me

also fyi to peeps.. i never had to calibarte my meter.. i check with dmm and it was reading exactly what my meter said.. bought it bnib too. :shrug:

heres an analogy for you. running a high power stereo without a fuse is like having unprotected sex with that hot chick at the bar with the sketchy sexual history. Sure you may be fine and nothing happens but that one time something does happen you're fucked.

Well I bought a high output I just gotta have someone put it in but I unhooked the battery's in the trunk charged

them individually they charged them both charged less then a hour one got 13 volts then the other 12.9 then hours later one at 12.5 the other 12.6 then my battery under the hood 12.3

seems like you have a parasitic load or something. that would sure explain how your stock battery died so fast and how you think your current ones may be dying. no you dont need a battery isolator unless you want your alternator to die off faster and unless you play your system with the car off for extended periods of time.

Maybe a silly question, but it seems you guys are only interrested in the V...

How do you guys measure the A ?

Or to make it a bit more difficult, How do you measure the CCA?

And i am not talking about the avarage stock battery (since we are all into caraudio)....

(for example: 12V, 100A, 3500CCA)

The deep stuff. We test at different frequencies from deep, to low to snake’s belly. (Like 20Hz anyone?)

if i recall correctly you put a clamp meter on the + wire when the car is off and check for excessive current draw. sorry but i totally forget what the "safe" amount of draw is.
