*Quad alt bracket for 06 suburban*

Recommended Posts

ok so im back to building my 06 suburban agn.. and i need some options and info..

run down...

(9) 15" FI Q's loaded

(3) AQ 3500.1d's

(4) powerbass 600.4's

unsure of how many batteries i will be able to fit yet?

but to the main topic would a dual alt or tripple be enough to power all that? im thinking no way but the reasons i ask is bc last time i built this suburban i ordered 4 mechanic man alts and irragi quad bracket... the bracket does not work with my truck it worked on a friends 2002 silverado but the way my burban is set up the 3rd alt on top hit my brake booster/ resivor.... has anyone else had this problem and how can i fix it or does anyone know if this bracket will for sure work?? or can i return it if it doesnt work as well?

http://tejcurrent.com/brackets/gmquad.htm

thanks

blake

If you were having issues with the iraggi one then changes are you will need a custom bracket made and I would put as many alts under the hood as you can fit if you plan on daily 3 of those aq3500's, I have two and a quad kit and don't have any voltage problems. But you could just get more batts to offset the amps, those three amps will pull at full tilt 380x3 so 1140, I would say you need at least half that in alt and then a hand full of batts or more alt and less batts. Your choice.

that picture posted above is the exact same problem mine was... the bracket didnt hit it but when you install the alts it does... i want to do the quad bracket with 4 300a+ DC power alts, thatd be pleanty then i wont have to do as many batteries b/c i am already short on space... i would like to try to keep my spare tire so im going to try and build a bracket to hold some right behind the bumper

i was running dual mechman 270s charging six XS D3100s powering three RF T4000s, a T800.4 and a T600.4 with minimal drops below 14v at full tilt for extended periods. no longer isolated the charging systems, and am now using triple mechman 270s charging an XS S1200 under the hood, same six XS D3100s powering same amps with voltage sitting at 14.5 at full tilt no matter how long i slam on the system. im running close to 15,000 watts with 0 issues dual or triple setup. i upgraded the triple because i plan on adding some more power...

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

I had the same thing happen in my O4 yukon. DC quad alt bracket wouldnt fit. Do you have pics of where it hits? Mine hit a rubber hose that came out of the front of the booster.

And couldn't you just put a 90 degree fitting on that hose to move it out of the way, would that give you enough clearance?
