need help tuning amp!

I just setup my sub and amp and i wanted to know what frequency to set my amp at because when i was listening to some songs it could not hit the lows. The freq. range is 40hz-130hz. if it helps, my setup is a rockford fostgate r500-1 amp, alpine SWR-1242D (type r), and a ported enclosure (1.66 cubic ft). I mainly want the sub to be able to hit the lows. Thanks in advance.

Just have it all the way down to 40 it will sound nice

What's your box tuned to? What ever it is have your amp tuned around that. Have the ssf bout 5hz below your boxs tuning.

What? you put your LPF at about 8O-100Hz, and your subsonic at about 5Hz below your box tuning.

OP: I'm really confused as to why you have two different threads asking the same exact question. And I answered it in your other thread already.

i have 2 type-r's and they're tuned to 40hz with decaf's tuning mp3.. if im listening to lows or decaf, i'll set my lpf to 80hz. if im listening to music that's not slowed, or techno, i set the lpf to 100hz. there is a noticeable difference.

I just set the lpf and leave it, regaurdless of what i'm listening to. but yeah, set it to about 80hz. and the reason some music dosent hit low is because of the enclosure probably not the lpf.
