Sir-Lancelot
Where in SC is this thing? I'm in Charleston and that's the best looking Yukon I've ever seen. Hey Bro, thanks a lot!!! I am in Florence. i love those gp's..badass build man Thanks man. I love the GP3k's too. I am on the lookout for 2 BIG ASS amps tho. 8K and up. Need to simplify this mess of wire I have going on and throw some more power on these Zcons. They are laughing at the 3k's. 2001 Yukon XL Sitting on 35 x 12.50 x 20, XD Monsters Headunit: Clarion DXZ785USB Front: B&C 10NW64 10" Neodymium Woofer, Crescendo XST2 Rear: B&C 8NDL51 8" Neodymium Woofer, Crescendo XST2 Mids & Highs Amps: MB Quart DSC 4125, MB Quart DSC 480 Subs: 4 18" SSA ZCONS Sub Amps: 4 GP3K Pro Electrical: Iraggi 260a, 3 tejcurrent 240a, tejcurrent quad bracket Kinetik - 6 HC2400 My Build Log
tonedeaf
Gonna bump thios build as it is sexy as fuck and the first time I have seen it. As for your door pods, you started with a cardboard backing and fiberglassed it with matting for strength I would assume, to get the base of the pods? How did you get the shape of the pods exactly? Gonna be starting my doors again soon and want to do them well the first time.

I did this so I could have a solid base to attach to the door. Worked out well as i have not had to go back in to it and tighten the bolts up. For the shape I used polyester ponte cloth and mat over that. The cloth stretches nice and dont use a bunch of resin like fleece does, best stuff I used to date. Best advice I can give is make damn sure this is smooth as possible and if you get a wrinkle get it out before you resin or you will be sanding like a mad man, lol. Check out //fibergalssforums for some tips. Good info over there. 2001 Yukon XL Sitting on 35 x 12.50 x 20, XD Monsters Headunit: Clarion DXZ785USB Front: B&C 10NW64 10" Neodymium Woofer, Crescendo XST2 Rear: B&C 8NDL51 8" Neodymium Woofer, Crescendo XST2 Mids & Highs Amps: MB Quart DSC 4125, MB Quart DSC 480 Subs: 4 18" SSA ZCONS Sub Amps: 4 GP3K Pro Electrical: Iraggi 260a, 3 tejcurrent 240a, tejcurrent quad bracket Kinetik - 6 HC2400 My Build Log
Sir-Lancelot
I noticed you doubled-up on MDF around the sides of the box, do you think that's required for strength? (Asking because I'm cutting my own box tomorrow for 4 15 BTL N2s...) Yes Sir done for added strength. Double sides tripple on the top. If you have the room I would double it and add still AND add some bracing. -------------------------------------------------------- Sounds like a nice set up. What amps do you plan to run and what will your box be tuned to? Good luck with your build. Do you have a log? EDIT: I see it in your sig, I will go check it out. 2001 Yukon XL Sitting on 35 x 12.50 x 20, XD Monsters Headunit: Clarion DXZ785USB Front: B&C 10NW64 10" Neodymium Woofer, Crescendo XST2 Rear: B&C 8NDL51 8" Neodymium Woofer, Crescendo XST2 Mids & Highs Amps: MB Quart DSC 4125, MB Quart DSC 480 Subs: 4 18" SSA ZCONS Sub Amps: 4 GP3K Pro Electrical: Iraggi 260a, 3 tejcurrent 240a, tejcurrent quad bracket Kinetik - 6 HC2400 My Build Log
