SnowDrifter
When using a circle jig like the one made by Jasper, do I need to take into account the size of the bit that I am using? Like... Say I want to cut a 5" hole, and my bit is 1/4", would I set the jig to 4 7/8" to compensate? Or no? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
bumonskateboard6
The Jasper 200 is set to use with a 1/4 inch bit so no you don't have to compensate. What if I use a different sized one, like say a larger one to cut down on the number of passes for a flush-mount hole? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
bumonskateboard6
Then you'd have to account for the diameter of the new bit minus 1/4" for the standard. I have one but haven't messed around with it yet so I'm not sure, I just get a hole saw bit for a drill they have them from 1-3 inches usually Current Systems: 2011 BMW 335i Hertz HDP1 DC LVL3 12" Full Carbon Fiber 2002 Acura TlKenwood DNX9980HD2 DCLVL4 12" Subs with LVL5 Parts D.7 CoilsDC 3.5kHertz HSK-165 up front HCX-165 RearHertz HDP4 AmpDC Power Engineering 260 Amp AltBig 3 and amp powered with KNU 1/0XS Power D2400 Up Front i pulled out my dick in class many of times and had it shown. get over it bitch...stupid open legged hairy beavered bitch... going over rms = smaller box, under rms = bigger box... neuspeedescort
if you are using a jasper 200 and run a bit larger then 1/4" you will end up cutting a new hole in your jig. its specifically sized for a 1/4" bit to plunge thru it. from there you will have to take 1/2 the diameter difference and account for that properly.
