Yeah i figured the current draw would be outrageous, i was just mainly trying to see how reliable itd be at .5 ohm. From what ive seen how mine is going to be powered is slightly more or better than about the average ive seen people power about a 3500rms sustem. But ill probably end up having to add or adjust yhe electrical equipment. I was planning 1 ohm load anyways.

I ran my Atomic 3K (it's the same internally) at 0.5 for a comp, it didn't even warm up, even when playing music, that was with 2 of these http://www.eaudio.co.nz/E_Audio_7.0_battery.htm and the rest was stock.

That isn't the point though, don't do 0.5 for daily, why would you need to?

Your not gonna get the 3kwp new as they are sold out and being replaced by the new models later this month, if you want the 3kwp your gonna have to buy used....

0.5 ohm for daily is stupid. There is no reason to use it.

i have always ran my zenon amps at .5ohm or lower, daily, and i have never had a problem. but maybe thats because im smart about it and not stupid lol.

OP. im running my crescendo 3k's at .5ohm, have been for about 5 months. yesterday i was breaking in some new recones on a 1 hour drive to a competition, had the system full tilt the whole way. when i got there i felt the amps are they were pretty cool. of course i have a good fan cooling system.

Yeah, you get more power, but it makes screw all difference, say the amp does 150% of the power it does at 1 ohm, that's only a theoretical difference of 1.5db, and even then it is only theoretical. Unless you really care about numbers or you are doing it for a comp, it doesn't matter.

Not all amps are still under warranty if run at 0.5 ohms though.

Dude stop. Ignorant statement and you're still running with it. Do you understand rise at all? Obviously not judging by your statement. Especially seen as you used the statement "1.5db theoretical gain", which if you know anything about car audio you would know there's no true formula. There's too many variables/environments to estimate anything...its all trial and error basically...

Yeah, but you don't have a set rise either, it is different at every frequency, and with every sub and every box. If they guy who you are telling it is ok to run at 0.5 ohms doesn't also get told about box rise and the many factors of it he will probably blow something up. There is a reason why companies don't warrant their stuff down to 0.5 ohms, that's because they don't want to be fixing stuff for free every time som noob runs it at that ohm load. Yes, it may be able to handle 0.5 ohms, it doesn't mean that it is always a good idea to run it that low though. Crescendo does rate their amps down to 0.5 ohms though, I guess they are feeling confident. Haha

if you continued to read the rest of my post instead of trying to pull the noob card you would have noticed that I said "even then it is still only theoretical" you could have more, you could have less, but I'd say you'd most likely have less. It still doesn't change the fact that 1.5db isn't a heck of a big increase (to the ear), if you even get that much. Running my Atomic 3K at 2 ohms on my RE MT 18" and running it at 0.5 ohms for a comp didn't make crap all difference to the ear, why? Because I probably wasn't just rising to 1 ohm, I was probably rising to over 20 ohms on some notes.

Unless you are running a full SPL burp car, I wouldn't bother with 0.5 ohms.

Yeah i am getting it new, if i even go for the crescendo, i know theyre not out until the end of the month i called crescendo and have one on hold if idecide to get it. Im not going to run .5 ohm, i was just curious as to how the amp would hold and if i should/could as the price of the amp for 4k was looking good and after rise i fogures it wouldnt be .5 anyways, but honestly the 3k+ at 1 is gonna be more than enough for me, for now lol. Then ill just upgrade amp or get amps.

Thing is that at some frequencies your 1 ohm won't even be 1 ohm, it will be higher than that. But yeah, don't worry about it, it is like that for everyone, so it will still be loud.

What subs are you going to use BTW?
