crescendo 3kwp .5 ohm

Yeah i am getting it new, if i even go for the crescendo, i know theyre not out until the end of the month i called crescendo and have one on hold if idecide to get it. Im not going to run .5 ohm, i was just curious as to how the amp would hold and if i should/could as the price of the amp for 4k was looking good and after rise i fogures it wouldnt be .5 anyways, but honestly the 3k+ at 1 is gonna be more than enough for me, for now lol. Then ill just upgrade amp or get amps.

Thing is that at some frequencies your 1 ohm won't even be 1 ohm, it will be higher than that. But yeah, don't worry about it, it is like that for everyone, so it will still be loud.

What subs are you going to use BTW?

yep yep lol. but idk if im going for the 15s or the 12s. ive had 2 12 rf p3s off a t500, 2 jl w3v3 12s off a tma 1000.1, then 3 jl w3v3 12s off 2 tma 1000.1( one w3 in the ho bandpass facing in)now 2 directed 12 sx off an audiobahn a1300 amp. so im used to and know how 12s sound in my car, an 04 monte carlo, but the 15 box would take my entire trunk up with a 7.2 internally at 34hz. not too sure how itd sound, one, 15s in my car, and second, with almost zero room in my trunk. ive seen herbykw's vids of his 15 xls in a monte off a vfl500.1, looked nasty and sounded great, but his box wasnt as big as i was going his is only about 6cu ft and subs face in, i wanted subs face out. but ive only had 12s, and thought itd be a nice different change of pace witht he 15s and could be louder. but i like all ranges off bass but prefer the mids to lows more. so, idk, either way theyll be way louder than anything i had before, dc ftw!

Anyway, 15"s should sound the same, but louder. Because sub size doesn't relate to how low or high the sub plays, that depends on how the subs T&S specs and the box. I'm pretty sure it will sound much louder if done right. Why do you want to face them back? You could seal off the trunk and have it all facing forward, that would probably be the loudest.

But yeah, DC is awesome, and I would definitely get some if the shipping to where I live didn't cost as much as the subs themselves

i dont think you will notice a difference in sound if you wire it down that low. just my half a dollar lol

Dude stop. Ignorant statement and you're still running with it. Do you understand rise at all? Obviously not judging by your statement. Especially seen as you used the statement "1.5db theoretical gain", which if you know anything about car audio you would know there's no true formula. There's too many variables/environments to estimate anything...its all trial and error basically...

lol exactly. yes rise changes with frequency but it works in multiples. so by wiring to .5ohm you literally have half the rise as 1ohm. the gain can be very significant, such as my 5db gain when i rewired. and of course not all amps are warrantied at .5ohm but we arnt talking about all amps are we? we are talking about one amp and it IS still under warranty.

Yeah im going 1 ohm with it. And id prefer facing back as this will be in my daily driver and i had subs face in but when i have to have my seats folded up theres a very noticable difference and there wasnt as much bass as outside of my car then, my friends and iove to mess with the 5-0 here, lol. But im not complety opposed to it though. Yeah the 15 dc xls are like one of the cheapest subs shipped to me. Ill look into that, my friends going dc after i talked him into walling off his trunk of his 06 taraus with a dc 8 firing in. Ive seen 15s firing inward in a monte, so i know it can be done but itll take some effort as the trunk pass is low amd narrow. But hey, half the fun is getting there right? Ill go 15s then. Just have my friend build me a box and not deal with anything.
