bumpinTL364
Hey all, I'm having trouble deciding whether to build my own or buy a powered subwoofer. my plans are for a 6.5" in a t-line or something of that equivalent power. this is for my dorm/house room, and probly will be used in my (2 car) garage on occasion as well. Can anyone tell me for sure what would be more cost effective? thanks! and ps, i do have room for an 8", up to a 10", but not really into spending that much bank on this. thanks! bumpinTL364
anyone have any experience or position on bose equipment? ive always tried to stay away, but i heard a smallish system playing in a room about 3-4 times the size of my room. should i persue a system from them or no? also, i know they use some very complex boxes, does anyone think i could recreate one? thanks guys Quote masterbation is free, and even saves you money.sorry but someone had to say itsorry, Jimmy...beat you to it (no pun intended) LOLDON'T get a wife. 94retta(219)
If you were planing on building a t-line then yes. Thats how bose does it. Now yes bose sounds pretty damn good. But you pay for the name. Everything goes into the design of the enclosure. "money= everything" there drivers are cheap so are there amps. If you are lookin at spending that money build yourself some t-line towers with an 8in woofer on the side and 4in mids on front with a tweet. If its done right itll be 3x that of bose shit. Ford302Redneck
There might be better options than a t-line for home use. Folded horns usually come into play here, cause you actually have room for them. Just start researching, you'll realize you don't need anything close to Meades towers to have a great setup. 94retta(219)
What do you mean by "folded horns"? Yea t-lines are hard to get right. But he has a small area. In a small area or any area at that t-lines are the best. They just get BIG with larger woofers. Quote BUILD LOG

There are plenty of different options besides t-line, unless your set on that.
