JZeFF
I have a d2700 hooked up in my car, I just read the resting voltage with a Dmm... With everything hooked up to it and the car turned off it sits at 12.34... When the car is running the voltage reader doesn't really drop below 14.7, unless the bass hits, then it goes down to like 13.2 for brief periods of time... That seems very low to me, am I wrong? Socky
A fully charged battery should rest 12.6 or above, i believe. Carroot1
also depends on how many miles are on the battery
JZeFF
The battery is only about 6 months or 4k miles old, before I put it in the car I charged it fully like the warranty says to do. Before I read the voltage I had the radio on for about 5 minutes without the engine running. I was not playing bass heavy music, just listening to some Christmas music in the garage. I just went for a 20 minute drive, I'm going to let it sit for a few hours an then read it again. 2000LaDe
also depends on how many miles are on the battery how many miles on the battery huh? u need to throw your battery on a smart or a trickle charge for a good ammount of time and condition it back to where it should be. 12.6-
Ford302Redneck
Lol at the miles on the battery. I agree, it needs a trickle charge, if you want to maintain it. Even if you drive your car everyday, it wouldn't hurt to at least once a week, leave a trickle charger over night.
Nathan @ XSpower
12.3 is low if that was the resting voltage. If you were playing music with the car off that would drop the voltage down. I would recommend fully charging the battery (should be 14.4V) and then letting the battery sit for 12-24 hours and checking the voltage again. If the battery in sitting in cold weather the voltage will drop lower than normal.
