Rell's Door panel build

Rell

Recommended Posts

Depending on how you want those xmas trees, I usually just get some longer ones and drill the hole, put them in, and duraglass them in place from the front, if you're gonna be glassing over the front of the door anyway, it will hold a little better than the slots, but if you break one when putting them in, you're screwed. I like what you did there though, turned out pretty sweet with those slots, leaves some wiggle room when popping the panel on the door. Nice work, can't wait to see them when they're done.

Thanks, I did get a hold of the correct clips I want to use. Also I did think about permanently fixing the clips into the doors, but like you said if they snap and break your screwed.

There a 1 1/4in in length. Stock ones for 3/4in in length I believe.

I already did one door, but I have to do the other 3 and get them hung up onto the cars door and I can align and get the key slots setup perfect.

Also after using the fostner bit the amount of mdf left it pretty thin and weak to me, so I plan on putting a layer of chop mat or fiberglass cloth over it to give it a little more strength.

Nothing exciting, sorry. But I know you guys like to see pics. So I give you boring pics. B)

Was ready to get back to work today, until this happened.

But anyways I guess I can post up what I did get done until the bit broke on me.

I have (6) of the 8in flushed speaker rings made already. And need (4) more. But today I was working on the doubled rings. Since the flushed ones are too thin.

Flushed ring, definitely cant screw a speaker to that.

Yesterday spent some time marking up the circles, to get ready for today.

I got three done today then the 1in x 1/4in bit broke in half when I was halfway through with this piece.

Got one ring set up and glued away.
