Lost Legacy
I currently have a 2 Cuft box excluding port area, which i cant remeber the volume of at the moment, and have managed a 140.3dB. I'm slowly moving into the sound off scene, but want to keep my sub as a daily driver, so want to build a decent box that will enable me to produce the highest dB score possible for the equipment i am currently using. at the competitions, the metre is on the windscreen on passengers side (I live in New Zealand so thats on the left hand side of the car). I've heard that having the port on the right side of the box will help increase my dB, and firing the sub towards the rear of the car will also increase it. is this true? my current set up fires the sub upwards, and the port is on the left hand side of the box facing the rear of the car. any help you could give on box designs, placement of port/sub, (anything like that) will be great thanks Quote Honda Accord SirT + Mad sounds = Awesomeness VTEC go BRAAAAAPPPP http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/141261-99-accord-sirt-sq-build/ Alright well i never done the big 3 so i see in my vision my truck on fire... Alex K
I believe though generally itll be louder if the port is on the opposite side of the meter. (if youre firing back) Quote 2006 Nissan Z Track. My Feedback Thread i used to think a band pass was something you were around your neck or something. Yes i know that area is 2 dimensional and that volume is 3 dimensional, i made a mistake in the original post and didn't notice. good on you for spotting that lol @Alex-Thanks, with the new box build ill try that out and see what i can get on the metre Quote Honda Accord SirT + Mad sounds = Awesomeness VTEC go BRAAAAAPPPP http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/141261-99-accord-sirt-sq-build/ Alright well i never done the big 3 so i see in my vision my truck on fire... Boon
More Kiwis eh What's the sub, power? You'll probably be loudest sub back port back. And yeah, getting everything as far from the meter as possible helps. Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
