You can get a twin turbo kit a lot cheaper than that and you would only have to run a single turbo in your car. Usually when you have a forged bottom end and want a massive amount of boost on it the turbo is really big if you run a single turbo so you have a bunch of "turbo lag", so on the street you would want to run a twin setup to overcome that lag. With you engine and the power that you would probably want it wouldn't cost you more than $5g's

$17,000.00 because people are willing to pay it. I am sure you could do a nice kit for a 1/4 of the price. You are right that the car makes plenty of power without a turbo kit. However if I can kid with you a little bit Steve you saying the car is already fast enough is like me saying my 138 db's is loud enough. LOL. SPL, Watts, Turbos, or Horsepower. You can never have too much of a good thing.

I believe the pulls were made in 7th gear as requested by the customer. This car had Long Tube Headers, Cats Removed, High Flow Mufflers, Cold Air Intake. I would expect the flywheel hp to be between 450 and 460 hp.

Very nice car for sure. Someone needs to do a twin turbo kit and make 600 rwhp. Talk about a fun sedan.

Not sure what kind of rates on the west coast. I am in Ohio.

I charge $75.00 for three pulls or $100.00 for unlimited pulls in an hour.

Tuning rates depend on the type of vehicle.

You can get them from turbonetics.com ststurbo.com and many other manufacturers. I wouldn't highly suggest the sts setup though because the turbo sits under your vehicle and if by chance you get cought in the rain and you have a leak on the turbo intake you can pretty much kiss your turbo goodbye. Turbonetics has great equipment and so does hellionpowersystems.com. I think that's the website

The key to saving money is finding someone with the talent to do work. It is not the cost of materials that make this so expensive. Its the mark up shops are charging because of the type of car.

Example.

Twin Turbo Mustang Kit $3000.00

Twin Turbo Corvette Kit $10,000.00

Twin Turbo Dodge Viper Kit $20,000.00

Twin Turbo Lambo Gallardo $50,000.00.

With the exception of the Engine Managment needed for tuning, all examples are using similar components. 2 Turbos, 2 Wastegates, BOV, Intercooler, Pipes, Clamps, ETC.

Another Example. I charge $200.00 for a mail order tune for Corvette, Camaro, or Firebird which is worth about 20 hp.

I know of shops charging $3,000.00+ for a Lambo with a 12-15 hp gain. Trust me if I could make $3,000.00 just to flash a tune into a car I would be all over it.

Long Story Short- The more an automobile costs the more of a mark up people will be paying for modifications. I am sure it is the same in the Car Audio World.

You sir are very correct. The only thing that changes between all those vehicles are the turbo sizes, intercooler sizes, waiste gate and maybe blow off valve sizing and computer tune. That doesn't account for thousands in markups, maybe a couple hundred.
