zachhern1 Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 I have a chevy 350 I'm going to be throwing in a dime and it doesn't have a alternator so I figure I'd just get an larger alternator than stock. I plan on running tops of 5k between mids and highs amp...any suggestions? also would 2-4 batteries aside from the main battery be efficient?

zachhern1 Posted December 30, 2010 Author Report Posted December 30, 2010 ya i plan on going with a big alt so I don't have to upgrade it later...I have to find a company that makes alternators for a 79 chevy motor though...I may just go with mechman and see how they are...thanks for the help though
Socky Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Get a 300+amp alt, 5k will be a a big load on a 200 amp alt. Make sure you get like 3 or 4 xs d3100 to get a stable voltage. Also get a alt with adjustable voltage regulator.
