I'm gonna keep the same amp, it should push this thing nicely. Do you have your box figured out yet?I looked in to 6th orders and I think that's a bit much for me...it seemed the higher you go up the order chain, the larger the box gets. I think I just need to play around with ported boxes, volume and tuning, until I get it where I want. SQMonte Posted January 3, 2011 Author Report Share Posted January 3, 2011 I gotta thank that dude who did that video on how to do a box on SketchUp...I tried doing it a while back and it didn't work out too well, had no idea what the hell I was doing so I uninstalled the program. His video walked me through it step by step and then I figured out how to show the measurements and past the sub in there myself. Decaf Posted January 3, 2011 Report Share Posted January 3, 2011 thats a helpful vid for those not familiar with sketchup 18sqin is too much for me, as is tuning in last design IMO basically u have to find the balance that works for you 16-18sqin per cuft will have more output, but will play less notes overall and it will be more peaky... which is good if u going to be worried about metering tuning to 36-38 means u pretty much shouldnt play below 30-32hz otherwise the sub wont have enough cone control and u risk overexcursion dd recommends 40hz tuning, and in all honesty, thats great if u dont play my music, lol... but if u do u are going to be playing below tuning all the time Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
