Rebel4055 Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 I got one of these for the same price like 2 months ago ... Works great ... Doesn't have a remote tho so it stays on even If the car is off :/ ... .. I'm thinking of buying like a toggle switch to it so I can turn it off ... Or just wire it into your ACC power. AMI CUSTOMS Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 stinger meters are known to get vibrated outta spec but you can adjust them.. i always read directly from the amp inputs.. that way you see exactly what your amp is getting. What? Mine is fine with the level of vibration it takes, has always been dead on with my amps. I would get the stinger meter over this ebay one. Is there a way to have it switched on and off with your car? Or does it just not draw that much to have to worry about it staying on overnight. because they draw so little power you do not need a relay, just hook it up to the switched output that your deck goes too. So the red wire or yellow depending on your car, you can use that to run it on, so it comes on with the deck. Thats how I did mine, they use like no power at all, btw these are from hong kong, so expect at least a 3 week waiting time Quote 2006 Mazda3 Hatchback Black 5 Spd ManualPioneer 4300DVD2 Sundown SA-12 (34hz Tune, 3.22 cubes, 14.5 inches per cube, Triple Baffle)Kicker 10ZX2500.1 (2845 RMS) Sub AmpKicker 11ZX650.4 (705 RMS) Mid Amp -- (3 Amps)Kicker KQ3 Active CrossoverKicker KQ30 EqualizerKicker 09QS60.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones)Kicker 09QS65.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones) - (3 Sets)2/0 Gauge Electron Beam Technologies (3 Runs, 2 +, 1 -) 1/0 Gauge KNU Kollasal Flex (1 Run for -) 300 Ft Kicker X-Series 16 Gauge Speaker WireXS Power D3400 (Rear)XS Power D3100 (Front)Singer Externally Regulated Alternator (Being Built)+ The Love for Car Audio and BASS <3UBL Build Log <------- Click Here-------> Normal Build Log (For Comments)
chewie Posted January 18, 2011 Author Report Posted January 18, 2011 i got mine in less than three weeks. you could hook it up as mentioned above but id rather see what voltage my amp is ACTUALLY getting. not the common voltage of the car. you could run a wire from the amp to the front where the volt meter is. and switch it or use a relay and wire it into your head unit remote turnon so it comes on when your head unit comes on.. its a nice unit VERY clear display.. the background glows blue not super bright or harsh and the letters are highly defined black large numbers.. you could litearlly read it 10 feet away.. the biggest plus is that its no where near as bright as the stingers. i would highly suggest them.. there is also an adjustment screw on the back just like on the stingers. so if you have a highly accurate way of measuring you can match it. Rebel4055 Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 Yes I agree I just hooked mine up and it is not harsh to the eyes or anything, very bold numbers with a nice soft blue background. I currently have it wired to my accessories post up front where my amp is powered but it's too rainy and wet to run a wire to the amp right now. Which I plan to do when it drys up. I'm adding a toggle switch to flip it on and off. Quote Rest In Peace mother. January 22, 1955 - February 14, 2013 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/user/35351-megrch/
