Ok I've been working on this design for a while and have now found one that works.

It's built for 12" Xl's with a Audioque 2200D for each sub, running around 2000 RMS each.

Each box is 1.5^ft after displacement as recommended by the DC website.

4" round port tuned at 32hz.

A little more info:

- It was designed to fit in a 1994 Mazda B3000.

- The ports are external do to the space restrictions in my truck.

- The reason for the odd shape, again space restrictions in my truck.

- The "feet" under each box is for support. There is a little step against the back wall of the cab.

What do you think?

what do you mean?

Your port area is way too small. If you did a slot port, you should do about 16-20 square inches of port area per cubic foot. If you do round ports, like 14-18 square inches per cubic foot.

I was told once to do 12-16 square. The 16-20 square and 14-18 round does sounds better.

The only down side to doing 2 - 4" round is I don't have the room.

Those XLs love port area. If you do 2 4" round ports for each box it would be better. Or even just 1 6" round port per box.

I would honestly just make one common chamber box with a large slot port and strap the AQs or just get an AQ 3500D.1 and be done with it, lees hassle with 1 amp.

I don't have much room to play with. The program I'm using says I need a 45" long 6" round port or a 25" long square 16 square inch port.

I'm going to see if I can maybe squeeze the round one in but not likely.

did the calculations and the round port is way to long to fit.

these subs do love port area but don't let anyone tell you they NEED it.

If you can't work 400 square inches of port for a 1 cube box, then just dont do it lol.

that 16 square inch port per chamber will be fine.

But your still saying big is better, because I can get a 20 square inch square port in. It's tight but it fits.
