osamio
I've been asking random questions, kind of beating around the bush on this, but what it comes down to is i have a stock alternator and battery, 0 AWG big three, and a 1700 watt amp running along with all the stock electrical, plus a few lights and stuff here and there. I know that 1700 watts continuously will over draw the alternator, BUT for daily use, driving around, listening to music, with breaks between songs/beats, times with the volume down... etc... so like, not true continuous full power, will i REALLY need a high output alt? Am i going to have problems with my battery dying etc? iKidwell
No, but I'd get another Small battery for the back or a nice one for the front Quote c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old. i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer. 2003 Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan Build in Progress

osamio
No, but I'd get another Small battery for the back or a nice one for the front Thats what i was thinking, and that's all that's in my budget anyway... But i was worried about getting a batt cause if the alt is being overdrawn the battey wont charge anyway. So i'm trying to figure out if the money would be better spent if i put it toward an alt. cjvue
No, but I'd get another Small battery for the back or a nice one for the front ^^ X2 .... My current setup right now (see my sig) dip into 13.5vt at full til on my stock 70amp alt. You should be fine with an extra battery in the back. It's not like you'll put it on full blast every second you're in the car. Loudcivic
all depends on what amp your stock alt is. if your alt is like mine(like 70 amps) then you will proly need one. if its a decent amp alt then you will be fine with a couple batteries. the amp in your sig is a pretty beefy amp and will drain some power Quote 2015 silverado crew cab nothing atm but soon... So hopefully i'll be good with as second battery. and yea its the amp in my sig. osamio
throw the biggest battery you can up front and if your volts dont stay up throw a small one in back Alright i'll head that direction, i'm not entirely sure how big a battery i'll be able to afford, I've been looking at a kinetik hc1400 or hc1800, and yes i know you all recommend XS but i've heard good things about kinetik too, and they're more within my budget....
