I'm sure it will launch the cone on command, which will be cool for a video. Lots of excursion (with a new surround) and a 130 Yeah, it generally helps if the thing is glued together. I'm pretty sure when the thing is glued together, I'd have to throw a few hundred watts at it in free air to break it, even then it would be the surround that ripped, it being only cloth. dam dude thats awesome. i would love to build my own custom speaker one day. what the procedure for doing something like this Thanks! Have a go at it man, just buy a few old cheap subs or something off ebay and pull them apart, then mix and match the parts that fit (generally you have to keep the motors and coils together, unless you get a coil made for you) I have another similar thread where I repair a $2 10" without spending money on it.
