thanks. Im not worried about cost. I am just wondering what other causes are. I am going to get the wheels balanced also.

Wheel alignment is about double that cost around here. So adding in the balance i am guessing around 120 for everything.

holy shit man...thats nuts. Wheels cost 5 bucks each to balance here and about 40 for an alignment. But if you know someone, its about free ;)

But yes, you need a front end alignment, in the end itll still be cheaper than new tires. A number of things can cause un even tire wear, like bad ball joints, wheel bearings, or worn tie rods.

And chances are, youll go in and they will tell you your tie rod ends are bad and etc. Thats how they make their moneyyy

if its bad its bad, there is no way to do an alignment if the parts are bad..... any halfway decent mechanic will show you where the parts fail

Nasty camber wear, align it and be done with it.

actually its probably the toe that is is out.... the camber will only wear on the inner or outermost edge of the tire... if its a wide wear toe is the culprit

^^ and ask them to shake down your front end could be a bad pitmen arm or somthing like that,

gotta do a shakedown before it can be aligned, trying to align a car with bad parts is pointless since the angles will be thrown out the second the car hits the road

ya. get it aligned and your troubles should be over. well, i should say the alignment issue will be over, but if the tires are already really worn, then you should probably replace them.

Guess i need to add to my sig " ASE Certified Technician in brakes and front end and alignments" ect.for the last 15 years so people dont just think i am talking out my ass when i state something on a car issue.

Toe-related tire wear is easy to recognize, as it is fairly distinct compared with other types. Excessive toe-out will cause a feathered wear pattern on the inside of the tire tread; too much toe-in will wear on the outsides. Toe-related wear can be distinguished from camber-related wear as it is at a much smoother angle and may spread over half the tread of the tire. This contrasts with camber-wear, which is usually only in a narrow area near the shoulder of the tire and abruptly disappears.

Now I could be reading too much into his description of the wear issue and it very well could be a camber issue but if his description is accurate then it is a toe issue. And nobody said you were talking out of your ass so calm down homie, its all good. BTW I have been master certified tech since 1998 A1-A8 (A9) and I am certified to teach the alignment course through Hunter should I put that in my sig 8) I did about 50 alignments a week on avg

I'll bet its a control/a-arm bushing out or tie-rod end that are worn/gone.

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through.
