I want to charge the battery befor i put it int he car but according to the kinetic site they say to use there charger or a special kinda of battery charger. Can i just a regualr 12v car charger? Has anyone else done it? There chargers are to expensive. meade916 Posted September 5, 2007 Report Share Posted September 5, 2007 nahh if you HAVE to use a regular charger then go for it, just dont get it boiling too much. Trickle charge it over nite. Dont rely on your alternator to charge the battery like that, in fact if the battery is even a little low it is VERY bad for the alt. GHOPPOMAN Posted September 5, 2007 Report Share Posted September 5, 2007 if u ballin like meade definitly go with the special charger. po folks like me havent had a prob with a standard charger starting off at 10 amp charge then cycling up and down to 40amp. either way i would charge it because it might take quite awhile to fully charge off a stock alt.
