southernstreets_92 Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 i am helping a friend of my install his 4 alpine type R 12s and want to know what would be the best amp to push these subs. they will be wired 2 subs to an amp at 4 ohms. they are dual 4 ohms subs and he wants to run about 1200 watts to each. any help with this would be nice. also would like to know what components would he need as far as electrical goes, things like a second battery and such.

skittlesRgood Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 you will want to run them at 1ohm instead of 4ohm. it will cost a ton of money to do that power at 4ohm. do you want 1200 to each woofer or per pair? sundown makes a 1200 and so does audio que. both great amps.
