Bakerman Posted January 31, 2011 Author Report Share Posted January 31, 2011 rip that god awful bodykit off should be a fun little toy though I like the body kit man...gonna put me black mesh in all the holes, and some HID foglight in the front bumper. Plus, its got a true cold air intake, and if I take the front bumper off, I'd have to shorten the intake tube. But the wing is definitely coming off. It has no function whatsoever, and I hate it. Also, if you use it, it voids the warranty? And you took it out, cause you didn't install it, but I would assume Saleen knows how to properly install a nitrous kit... Bakerman Posted January 31, 2011 Author Report Share Posted January 31, 2011 Yes, it came from the factory with N2O...Saleen knows what he's doing with building this motor, and I'm sure he wouldn't have put it on there if it wasn't safe. But this is a used car, and I don't know how the last owner treated the car. I would like to get it apart, and see what the internals look like before I go bottle feeding it. I would hate to fuck up a good motor by blowing out a seal somewhere, b/c I didn't take my time in doing things. So, I would feel more comfortable taking it apart, looking at everything and making sure everything is up to par and ready to be put back on the bottle. I've never had a hard on for domestic tuners, but this is a Saleen. Yeah, there are some things that are ricey on this car, and like I said, I didn't like it when I first saw it. You can easily tell if a motor has been took apart, and if it hasn't I'd assume the factory internals are still that, factory. Nitrous isn't that big of a deal, not like your making it out. Worst thing for nitrous is detonation, so check your spark plugs, make sure they are good and gapped correctly. Also make sure its not "spark knocking", these things is what makes nitrous go boom.
