Chode, nobody said the number is spider made it not a daily sub.

My Fi Q has 4 or 5 spiders(I can't remember). They are a different kind that are on the BTL but regardless.

The amount of spiders is irrelevant, its the Fs, people are referring to.

my bad i didnt see the full convo...(at a restaurant on my droid) oops haha

but your last point was my basic point...that the amount of spiders doenst decide whether it plays music or not

but i agree with your statement of seeing them up against other Neo drivers such as the Z, DC and Warden

Not the only number I looked at btw..

Just saying.. It really limits what car this can go into.

I'm not one for playing or burping much below the fs..

So for 50hz cars this is very neat.

But at full power playing 45or so is just tempting fate..imo

Agreed. Maybe you can order a different spider pack to drop fs and raise vas a little?

I bet with the five spider pack you COULD play SOME music but i wouldn't suggest it to 99.99% of the people on this forum. Personally if i had the money i would try it.

I have to also agree with the pricing being fantastic. Considering all of the R&D that has gone into these designs and the CNC machine time also the fact they are 100% assembled right there in Vegas by Fi makes this an INSANE deal. Lets see some numbers soon.

whats wrong with 5 spiders? my DCs have 6 spiders and i can play music with no issues ALL DAY LONG...in actuality they sound better than my Level 5s and Level 4s and play a wide variety or music...im over 151at 35 htz and i still got room to grow...i was only running 3.5k per sub too...so i see no issue w spider count

Yea as you read farther it wasn't the spider pack or numbers that affect its daily abilities. It does have a really high Fs because of it but im also refering the size of the gap within the motor. The tighter the gap the less room the coil has to rock during the transiet(sp?) bass of music. the changing frequencies can cause the rock ever so slightly.

more of a reference to the fs of the woofer..

tuning below fs is the real issue here..

well.... tuning well below FS.

yup and yea i wouldn't tune these to low with the 7 spiders but if i had the money i'd be willing try it out just for fun

CAN YOU NOT READ?!

I repeated myself 10 times, Fs listed on the website is the 7 spider option.

Stock is 5 spiders...

There are THREE spider options listed on the site...5,6, and 7.

PLEASE read the thread before replying to ONE post.

The woofer is still a very high FS woofer. It's not like it's all of the sudden going to have a fs of 35hz and double it's vas and become a legit daily driving sub. Going from 7 to 5 spiders won't change that(assuming they're all the same). We don't even know if they're using all the same spiders or using some sort of soft/stiff combo. So to say "don't worry, there are different spider packs" really means nothing without knowing the details of what exactly each spider pack consists of.
