Difficulties:Subs are weaker than they should be

I have Two 12" HiFonicHFi12D4's being ran by a 600W Peak Rockford Fosgate 201s. Whenever I run one 12 by itself its running somewhere around 300Wrms and sounds GREAT but when I try running them both at the same time they both sound bogged down(like they are both pulling from the same 300Wrms that the one was drawing from instead of splitting the 600W peak). I reall would like to figure this out...have been running one sub for quite a while now and would like to get stuff in right working order. Please Reply ASAP. Thank You

Also, I have checked all the wiring throughout the car besides whats under the carpet, My battery is brand new, and the subs are brand new as well.

This is because your amp is only putting out 300w tops. When a company rates an amp for peak output, this is with a fully clipped signal. I have a Kicker Warhorse that is capable of putting out 20000w peak, but only does 10000w rms. When buying an amp you need to always look at the RMS rating not the PEAK rating.

dont go by peak, what ohm is the sub, are you running the subs series? parallel? if amp puts out 300W 40hms and you have subs wired 8 amp will only put out 150, check your ohm loads and RMS!!!!!rating of the amp

Oh ok...Thank You. Do you have any good amp suggestions for my setup that wouldnt be too hard on my pockets? something that will push my subs to their rightful limit

To get the performance you expect out of your subs, you need to either purchase a second identical amp to the one you have, or purchase a 600w RMS amp.

What is your budget for an amp? For what you are running and looking for, I would look into power acoustik. It is not a great brand but for low powered applications, it works jsut fine and is not hard on the wallet. Look at the gothic series.

So we are talking something like a 1200w Amp Peak 600w rms?

Don't look at the peak rating at all.
