BLuejoules Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Hey guys, yesterday I was driving to a friends house listining to some too short, when my bass just dies. I have this kind of old jensen 220 watt amp hooked up, and when I had my car on the power light on my amp came on (duh). But now when my car is on my amps light isnt on and im getting no power to my sub, I checked all the wires and they are all hooked up, but the wierd part is that during some songs my amp gets power again but only for a couple of seconds. So do amps just die or did one of my wires go bad? IG: devinthydude

cracker Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 just wink at it lol. if it comes back on for a sec or intermitant mabe check your ground to see if its good or loose. sand off some of the paint if ya havent already when installed it. worse case, WORSE case if all checked out the jensen pooped out. lanman31337 Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 There should be a screw off of the top and one at the bottom. The bottom one is to drain it, and the one on the side is to check for the proper fluid level. It's set up just like a manual transmission. If yours doesn't have it, you may have to drill and tap some holes, no bigger than 1/4 inch. If your amp is bone dry, use 90 weight gear lube to fill it up. If you need some pictures, let me know. It brought it from 35 watts rms to an astonishing 100 + 100 rms.
