JEFFYBOI Posted April 15, 2014 Report Share Posted April 15, 2014 So I got a DD1 on its way. So I got all my components running off the HU. How would I go about tuning the HU for my components? I know for sub preout just hook up to the RCAs at 40hz and then do the 1khz until it detects distortion. Since the fact im not using RCAs for a component amp I imagine that the signal from the HU speakers out and the RCA preout will distort at different levels? bbeljefe Posted April 18, 2014 Report Share Posted April 18, 2014 The head unit amplifier will distort a lot sooner than the preamp outputs. Typically, they'll distort at ~ half volume while the preamp outs won't distort until 80% or higher.
