bkolfo4
Been working on this for about 9 months now, and it is posted on ***. Since it is about to get SMD subs, I will post the build up here too. Kenwood KDC-X692 headunit Kenwood 6-Disc changer Audio Control Matrix line driver (2) Kicker SX900.4 amps (12) AA Carbon Fiber Mids ( Morel MDT-12 tweets (6) IA 40.1's running at 0.5 ohms (6) 15" AA Mayhem subs <- soon to be 15" SMD subs (1) Mechman 250 amp alt with external regulator kit (1) D34/78 Yellow Top (14) D31T Yellow Tops A lot of 4/0 and 1/0 wire! My best so far is 159.7 dB at 42-43 Hz I did a 155.7 street beat run with only 4 of 6 subs playing. With everything working, it plays music over 158. Currently finishing up the doors and installing Polyethylene racing seats. Still having a problem with the belt slipping on the alternator pulley, so I am taking the van to a friends house this Sunday to modify the factory spring tensioner so it can be manually adjusted and locked in place. Also going to try to relocate the idler pulley to give the belt maximum wrap around the alt pulley. trainman0978
nice work. Really like the amp mounting work. And those IA amps look pretty sweet as far as the casing on them goes. 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Voo Doo Blue my upgrades and "build" thread. bkolfo4
I am sure I could get more on the meter, but this van is really setup to play music at shows and have fun. It is a killer sitting inside it playing a song with good heavy bass around 30-35 Hz! bkolfo4
BTW Brian where you get them helper bags in the rear, and did you have to mod anything to intall them? Pretty much bolt on. Very easy - just make sure you have plenty of sharp drill bits. Man my frame was hard to drill through! Also had to cut the end of the exhaust off. I will get that fixed when I get around to installing a body kit. They are rated for 2000 lbs, and I am right around there. But I only have to run 20 psi in them to level the van and give it a good ride. They are rated to run up to 100 psi, so I think I am ok. Part number AIR-59521 at summit. there is another part number if you have the mono leaf spring. I paid $180. I see they are $200 now.
