Yup - get yourself a proper head unit and that will make a world of difference. I'm not saying that it is 100% of your problem but I am 100% sure that it will produce a much cleaner signal for your amp to work with.

Your subs only hit mids? That's different - - maybe you should check your system tuning, or box tuning, or everything tuning. 4 boston 10" G10's should be able to play a good range of music.

Ummmm - - Your stock head unit has pre-outs? If not, you are probably using a line-out converter for your input to the amp, that won't be 1v....\ Unless it is a very good LOC, it can really really really really contribute to distortion and clipping which = protect mode. I wouldn't assume that gain needs to be up, I would make sure that it is set properly. good thing you are getting that taken care of.

Man, you are getting much much better at this! This version is looking very nice. I still think a super angry 10 would be wonderful... or a mildly disturbed 15. 12's are still out of the question for life?

Alright, I need a good flip out for the sausage, I love my simple 9886 but I have to get some backup cam/video action in there. What it needs: Volume KNOB - no buttons for volume 3 sets of preouts - 4v would be cool Alpine, Pioneer, even a nice kenwood....maybe.. rear view cam input. not to suck - only good stuff for the ol sausage! Does not need : Nav Bluetooth - - - I have plenty of gear to trade and would prefer to trade but cash is on the table as well. I have some kicker 2500's, many coax and comp speakers, quite a few head units, pretty much a little of everything. Let me know! EDIT - I may have not been too clear in this post.... I need a nice clean deck that isn't junk. The sausage is a pimpin SQ doomsday machine that has top of the top of the line gold plated platinum gear in it and needs the best source unit ever made.....but better. ....I may have over-exagerated but the sausage has some great gear in it and needs a new head unit with backup input, volume KNOB and ipod controls. Bluetooth isn't discouraged but it isn't needed really.

I ride a Cannondale Rush - best MTB I have owned so far... Go out as much as possible but the winter is taking it's toll on my riding time.

I personally like no grilles if the wrap job is nice. Sticks are cool too though, manzanita and redwood are the best.
