    I'm guessing he meant he would get another amp to power the extra subs, resulting in a bigger power draw. This is a little off the topic, but how much power do you need to draw to make it where the alternator and battery can't keep up? I'm nowhere close to this but I'm curious. Hard to say without knowing how big the alt is and the size and specs of the battery. Stock, I'd say 150amps.

    Lol at the miles on the battery. I agree, it needs a trickle charge, if you want to maintain it. Even if you drive your car everyday, it wouldn't hurt to at least once a week, leave a trickle charger over night.

    Why would you need a battery for a extra sub? Subs don't draw current, amps do. If you want to run 2000rms, you need 2 level 4s. if you only want one sub, you need the XL.

    Considered a new Sundown 2500d? If you have problems finding either. I was told it was considered close in power.

    It could be a lot of things. How is your box design? I've seen boxes where the port location was wrong and caused the subs to unload in funny ways. But easiest way for you to find out the problem is play test tones and find out where its bottoming out at.

    MT's aren't designed for a sealed box. Sometime programs like that and SPLish subs doesn't agree. You can try, but you might find that it causes for a tiny sealed box and in real world it will the worst sounding thing imaginable.

    You don't have to have it to keep a 100% clip free setup but it does help. Setting with a DMM can be just as effective.

    There isn't nothing wrong with one sub vs 2+. Personally I rather have 1 great sub than 4 ok subs.

    Way I see it, if it setup that way, it just giving each set a band to play, which makes it fine to me. Can't see videos, I'm using a mobile to view the forum and it won't show them.

    That's why I broke it down as loudness levels. Watts has nothing to with it much. But you can't take 150wrms and break world records.

    The way people evolve, start with say 135dbs thinking your loud and happy, which I admit I actually enjoyed riding around listening more back then. To now having to have 150 plus to even think about being happy to come to find out u need 155 to consider being happy again. I'm same way, I won't have another real setup until it moves enough air for a hairtrick. Period. I keep trying to go SQueer, but don't think I'll be satisfied.
