So actually upgrading rotors, and quality pads, can make a world of difference. EBC is suppose to be very quality stuff in the pad and rotor department.

Dude, you can't fit 6 lugs on 8 lugs. You must be thinking of a expedition. The Excursion should share the same breaking as my truck(F-250). I'm planning on upgrading to EBC front rotors soon. I don't think mine has horrible braking, does well enough. Even when pulling 10k pounds, without trailer brakes, its ok.

I have mild ADD, but its something I usually can catch, and control. And honestly it effected my learning at school quiet a bit, but I didn't see the need for a special school(I didn't know they offered such a thing). I always just gave a little more effort than wanting somebody to help me with it. When you get to college, nobody is going to care what kind of disorder you have. Or actually in life(job force). I'm not trying to talk bad about you, but just giving you a heads up. The only way you can do better is YOU. Not going to a special school because you have a small problem. And then wanting something extra. Don't get me wrong, I hate the fact everybody is forced to learn one way in public schools. I think honestly, that's why we have a lot of drop outs and such. Not everybody is equal, and therefore cannot learn the same way. Example. Some people learn by reading. This is not me. I can to a certain degree, but I'm more of a hands owns type, and its also, better if I have somebody to show me first. Enough rant. Best advise is work hard. Keep your grades up, make sure you have the minimal requirements and get good test scores. Then once at college, really work hard. You only get one shot, make sure you make it count.

Sorry to hear that. That's one thing nobody messes with of mine. My family, my ride, or my house. I'm REAL protective over those three things. And I get super furious when I even think somebody is putting a threat on either.

Most people can't tell the difference in SQ. Plus, if your looking for those type of subs, your not worried about blending in with your front stage well. Or playing perfectly flat. People always say they are surprised by the SQ of a high powered daily sub. Which really surprises me. They all act like its going to sound terrible.

the p2 will have better sq than the Sundownn and never heard the dc but if anything like their other subs going to be hard to blend correctly I haven't heard RF or Sundown, but I have heard the DC. I don't consider DC, SQ subs as the most part. But I don't see how you can say one will be better than the others, when I doubt you have actually heard them all.

How about you prove your point?! I said they is/was CEA complainant, which doesn't not let companies overrated. Alpine is a respective brand, and them being overrated would be a surprise to a lot of people. So please, prove to everyone they are overrated...

SQ isn't subjective, the interrupting is subjective. That's two different things.

Do you have proof or are you pulling this out of your ass? Alpine is/was CEA certified, and they do not overrate.

Its all good, but no need to make things anymore difficult than needed. I just wouldn't suggest trying knobs, unless your 100% it will work. Just to be safe. Even knobs from the same buildhouse but in different amps could cause problems.

I haven't heard the 40 series on a 4banger. Flowmaster actually have a muffler designed for those types of motors. If you want a flowmaster. I'm sure other people will come into this thread and say flowmaster isn't for those type of cars, but I don't see why they wouldn't be. I have the 40 series on my Mustang GT, which is really popular, and it sounds good. But I'll eventually go another route, just to be different.

I doubt something was wrong with the amp to cause the wrong knob to smoke. As if that was the case the amp shouldn't of worked. You do never know, but I think your trying to think to much.

It has nothing to do with jaming the knob isn't the amp, I don't see how that would make a difference. I'm not saying it has happened, but its possible. Plus BakermanINC just post in this thread he smoked a knob...but you have never heard of it. There are way to many variables involved to just say that he burned a knob because its a different company. Like what? Are you really trying to argue its ok to try different knobs in different amps, as you don't see anyway it can cause any harm?

But still, is it really worth it? Magic smoke because you thought you knew what you was doing. Getting the proper bass knob is usually cheap and easy for the most part. I wouldn't risk it in most cases.

Sure, most have similar designs. But still, for the most part I would be scared to break a amp just cause I used the wrong bass knob. I used a US Amps(XT) knob with a Sundown amp before, but I knew it was the exact same knob and they was built at the same place.

DD actually OEM those subs IIRC. And its possible you won't get the same performance with a hybrid sub. Also, some organization doesn't allow hybrid subs. So if you compete, make sure they allow it. I would actually try to contact Crossfire first. They have there number posted on their website. Try them first, then if not, you can try other places.

Surprised you didn't smoke more than the knob. The knob just has a light, the amp actually has to have the pieces to control the light. Common sense should tell you that.

Are you trying to say the XL should be the only sub people should use for SPL/loud groundpounders? Just because a Team(a group of people who I would guess are friends) use one product doesn't make it the best. Which I'm sure this team is apart of Team DC, and get better prices. Which could also effect decision. I know if I got DC at Team cost, and T3 at MAP, with no real big difference I would go with DC. But I'm not saying the XL isn't a great woofer. I'm just saying.

No..they "hug nuts" and "join bandwagons." You can't intertwine the two terms. They hug nuts to the bandwagon they are on. Yes you can. They don't hug the bandwagon until they are usually on it.
