man dont let it bother you to bad. theres always things in life that we all say what if and have regrets about but look at it another way. say you tryed to go inside the house he coulda shot you or if you tryed to take gun away and he ended up shooting himself or something it coulda looked bad. i mean there are 1000s of ways it coulda ended up but in the end no one knows which way woulda been the best to prevent it. at least you tryed to call someone to help him.

its not the sub thats causing the problem is all in the enclosure. an enclosure that big allows alot of airflow and therefore more excursion. i would suggest dropping down to maybe 6cubes or set your gain conservatively until you figure out the limits of your system.

i got a crime guard from crutchfield been pretty satisfied with it so far. also has a lifetime warrenty and will pay your deductible for your car or electronic items stolen for it.

yea i had these a while back for my first system in my moms car before i even owned a car and i accidently dropped my drill on it one day and the bit hit making a similar but less severe crack and i played them for 2 years full tilt everyday untill finally they got so loose the power lead broke and caused my other sub to take full power and blow. just a word of advice on those subs is that one of the leads are a little shorter then full excursion and that shitty metal clip that holds the tinsel leads is sharp and after a while it will begin to cut through that shit so be careful when your really pounding on them.

personally i wouldnt even worry about it thats just pretty much a dustcap it wont hurt the performance of the sub any.

dang man thats shitty you gotta be careful with that much power and a box that big. It doesnt take much for those subs to come up out of that box and break.

its all in your system man its hard to tell you without being there if you can go any higher. i would just go as high as it will go without distortion then bump it down a notch so you dont have to worry about clipping.

i gave the lvl 4 the win over the bl because he simply said which could get louder i mean dont get me wrong the bl can get loud but not quite made for spl as much as the lvl 4 i think.

i voted btl just because i own 2 18's myself but i personally have never heard the lvl 5. also i gotta say this audiofanaticz your avatar cracks me up every time i scroll down in a post and i see it haha good stuff.

the rockford t1500 will put out 1500 rms no problem even with decent voltage drop and the sundown 1500 will do that and some with decent voltage as well. those are my two picks. but with a nice electrical you could see around 2000+ watts with these amps so id be careful with gains for a while. oh and for a quick comment on the A/B class amps yes the might be less efficent but from what ive heard about the rf15k they are supposed to draw less current to produce all this power because it uses its own stored power plus batt and alt power is what i understood.

i just got done designing a wall for my acura its 12.14 after displacement i could easily adjust it to your specs or could make it totally different you havent provided me or anyone of that matter with much information. i need max depth height lenght ect. i would suggest keeping to about 32-34hz range with those subs if you want to pound lows cuz think 31hz may limit your abilities.
