  1. only cards that accelerate EAX are creative. XF-i cards are excellent, but can get pricey. For $100 you can get a PCI-e version XF-i with onboard 64mb ram (great for games like Unreal/doom/farcry/bunch of games...........
  2. well, tomorrow im going to try this out. My local sound shop is great, Im sure if the alpine isnt so great, i'll try with a different set **EDIT** how are the alpine type "S" speakers? Are they decent?
  3. I was just thinking of this.......can I just replace "BOTH" woofers with (lets say) a quality alpine/R.F coaxial speaker and just connect it to the crossover. See what im saying. Instead of ripping everything out of my doors to return for an RMA, or spend money that I really dont have, I can just replace the RF woofers with a 4ohm coaxial woofer that can handle more power. My local shop will sell me infinity kappa coax set for $85. So when all is done, my front sound stage would be alpine woofer (mid bass) RF tweets, and RF crossover.....Will this be OK?
  4. That power supply is a piece of SHIT!! DO NOT BUY IT! I am partial with PC Power & Cooling PSU's. Seriously, by a PCP&C PSU, now that OCZ bought them, there prices have dropped over 50% in the last 4 months, and there quality is untouchable. Get the 610w PCP&C psu from newegg, and you'll have a PSU for life. Everything else you listed is "OK" If your on a small budget, just use the built in sound from the motherboard, but if you dont like that idea, that card you listed is great for "studio quality audio" just not good for games, as the built in audio processor wont "accelerate" EAX enabled games. no biggie though, were only talking about a 2-3FPS hit. As far as a cooler goes, I only watercool my PC's so you might want to look into that. You can get a "Good" setup for under 150$, but if air cooling is all you want, get this...... http://www.petrastechshop.com/thulhecpucos.html . I buy ALL MY COOLING STUFF from these guys. There the best on the net, ALEX, and Quoc (The owners) stand behind there stuff 100%. THere customer feedback is rediculous, nearly off the charts!
  5. I just blew my passenger side woofer, I could always warrenty them (cause sonic electronix is good like that) but It will just happen again, soooooo. To get the most out of my mids/high amp ( POS MTX) I can get 90watts RMS @ 2ohm, so im thinking this time around I think it might be wise to get a component set that is 2ohm. I'm almost glad this happened cause this RF set just didnt get loud enough. I see JBL has a set that is 2ohm for 134$ my budget is 150$ Does JBL make a quality set? Also, I was thinking of this. Can I run the 2 front channels on my MTX thunder amp @ 2ohm, and the 2 rear channels @ 4ohm? Or NO. THanks
  6. here is a great motherboard for it. Excellent OCer as-well. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128359 Here is a great GPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130482
  7. His profile is funny, did you fill all that out David? Funny as shit! HPI- I hope this all gets cleared up for you, I just dont understand these low life fu*k bags that do this to people...... G/L bro,
  8. This CPU here ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115041 ) is one of the BEST cpu's for a skt 775 platform. DAMN GOOD OCer to, and 12MB OF CACHE w00t! This bitch will fly when paired with the right stuff.
  9. Intel is faster clock for clock. What I mean is that Core2 series CPU's are clock 4 clock faster then an AMD X2/X3/X4. The Core i5/i7's are WAY FASTER then the AMD PII"s so we cant compare them in this case. AMD might be a little cheaper (by little I mean maybe a 40-50$ savings) BUT, Intel will be faster. So you make the choice.
  10. Right on bro! I agree, shit go all out or nothing right???? Hell for that matter, that is why this forum is possible!
  11. Hold on! What budget are you working with? Intel is about to release the new skt 1156 Corei5 CPU's WITH ARE FUCKING BEASTS, and will be nice and affordable. I wouldn't sink a penny into PC's right now, knowing that for 500$ in about 1-2 months could have gotten me a Core i5 CPU, DDR3 mem, and a badass motherboard. If this is out of budget and you "ALREADY HAVE A AMD CPU" then the board you linked me t o is just fine. However if you dont already have an AMD CPU, My recommendation is to stick with an Intel Core2 Duo/Core2 Quad setup which can be had VERY VERY VERY CHEAP right now.
  12. here bro, for any PC I would build for a customer, I use these ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820231166 ) Lower voltage (cooler temps and lasts longer) and has 5-5-5-15 timings (run mine @ 5-5-4-12 @ DDR1104). Also, you want to avoid populating all DRAM slots on the motherboard if you can. Using all 4 slots on the motherboard (assuming you have 4 slots, please tell me what mobo you are using) makes the north bridge work harder as your memory controller hub is in there, and that makes heat, PLUS you must pump slightly more voltage to the NB to make it operate with stability in mind. The 4GB kit I linked to you above is a solid performing ram kit, has lifetime warrenty. If you did want to get 2 kits of this which will give you 8GB's of ram, YOU HAVE TO HAVE A 64BIT OS! EXAMPLE: Win XP64 (love XP64) Vista64, win7 64, etc.... If you run more then 4GB's on a 32bit OS, the OS will NEVER SEE the additional ram, or use it! So just keep that in mind.
  13. above guy is correct, lower the timings means generally better FPS in games, and better windows response. However, those timings are really "relaxed" if this is for DDR2 ram. What speeds are you looking to run this ram @? Typically 5/5/5/15 is good timings for a 4GB kit running @ DDR1066, and this ram is very cheap. If you using timings in the 6's and 7's on DDR2 ram, that is SHITTY RAM. DDR3 ram runs these timings, but that ram moves along @ MUCH FASTER SPEEDS to back up the relaxed timings. I can go on forever about this, if you want more info, please let me know
  14. holy fu*k, im surprised the amp will still function. O'Brother :01nocomment8so: . You need/must/have to/need to upgrade your charging system to handle that amp. Do you not even have a good AGM batt in the back? Damn bro, start working on the electrical upgrades, and dont go less then 2ohm on the amp, then you should be golden.
  15. spinning an alt in reverse would be fine, the ALT will not care! My question is this: Where are you going to find a dual pulley for a dual surpentine belt style setup.... You might have to have a machine shop custom make that for you on a lathe. Personally, why dont you just purchase an upgraded alt of 250-300a?
  16. If so, PLEASE let me know! I am eager to get back to work......Thanks so much!
  17. Sir, I appreciate your reply, however that wasn't the question! That you sir, appreciate it. BTW, your dvd is going out shortly, sorry for the delay. Just so depressed about failing the NREMT test twice, I just dont want to leave the house. Thanks buddy.
  18. Hey everyone, just a quick question if someone can help me. To those of you (us) that run multiple batts, dual alts, and a MLA module, what is your voltage after everything has warmed up? It has been 85-90+ Degrees out side here in the Atlanta area and I have noticed my voltage is no longer staying @ 15.3v after warm up, Is this normal? My voltage is more along the lines of 15.1V crusing, and a dead idle of 14.9-15.0v. While bumping VERY HARD, my voltage will drop to 14.3-14.6. Is what im experiancing normal due to the heat? I guess I take for granted the cold winter months here when it is 40 as a HIGH temp. I didnt have the electrical system that I have now, back when it was winter, but I can tell you that using the stock alt, NO MLA module, I was idling at 14.3 all day long. Anyways, any input would be much appricated. Thanks
  19. holy shit, your avitar is HOT! Steve, congrats w/ SMD brotha, damn best audio site on the web!
  20. I find this so damn funny right now, maybe you will too?
  21. Well, i'm not sure if your regarding taking the NREMT exam, or just some school test, but 99% of the questions on the NREMT exam, you have to pick an answer from 4 possible choices, which in most cases are all correct! You have to pick the better answer from the 4 multiple choice answers in your bank. See what im saying? With a typical test, if you know your shit, you can eliminate 2 answers from the get go, sometimes even 3. Damn this NREMT exam is hard for me.
  22. Yes, I did buy the practice tests @ www.emt-national-training.com however after taking nearly 2400+questions in the last 16 days, I scored WORSE on my test yesterday. See now im just fucking pissed. I take a xanax before the test, which helps me, but still......I cant pass.
  23. Thanks bro, I appreciate the feedback. The tests are $100 each time, and you can only take it "3" times. This next time I take this test, will be my LAST TIME I can take it. If I fail it again, I have to take a 36 day refresher course, and then have 1 more shot at it. The refresh is 750$, and then the 100$ test again. This fucking state makes money coming and going, I swear! I need to make some damn money, I got cought up in this "economy" back 7 months ago, and have yet to be able to get someone to employ me. son-of-a-bitch!
  24. those are t nuts.
