  8. Ray, I'm little confused. Is the stock 3 way cross over built in the amp or is there one on each door? I'm not sure if i need to buy new 3 way crossover or if i can use stock one's.
  9. before buying subs you need to decide how many amps you gonna run.
  10. Thats 'cause we put double to triple rms power to them. I'll take hot and stinky over blown all day. the problem is most of the time it's rated power But yes, i seen and heard DC subs on crazy stupid power without any problems
  11. One thing i noticed is that DC subs get hot and sticky a lot.
  12. Turns out that there is no speakers in rear doors just an empty slot.

  15. Ohh ok, i need to replace the 2 way DD crossover with 3 way crossover. So i need to buy active crossover for amp, 4 3 way crossovers and LOC
  16. Where would i hook up 4" speaker? I'm gonna buy them seperate andd run with DD
  17. I'm guessing i can do 3 way system, because i have those 2.5" speakers. But i can replace them with 3.5" or possibly 4". Where would i connect this speaker to?
  18. I can get signal for Line out converter from any speaker wire going from amp? Then, it's going to be LOC> xover > amplifier. And i can use stock wiring? Also found this: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=245914 about 2 way and 3 way http://www.caraudio.com/forums/speakers/238195-difference-between-2-way-3-way-component-speaker-systems.html
  19. later on I will take out Alpine and add another set of DD comp. So it's gonna be a total of 4 speakers, 4 tweeters 2 passive crossover. Stock will be coming out. Also, SS amp will be replaced too for more power.
  20. on bottom of the amp there is 2 switches, Stereo and mono for A and B channel. On top there are 4 gains, 2 for each channel, but I was told to keep them equal.
  21. Hello So, i have stock BMW system which consist of 1 tweeter, 2.5" mid? and 6.5 speaker in front doors. 1 2.5" mid? in back door and 6.5 in back panel. All of this is power by stock amplifier in the trunk. Now, I added alpine tweeter and replaced stock 6.5 with alpine. (SPS 610c). I'm getting DD cs6.5 for front and moving alpine's to the back. As of aftermarket amp, I have soundstream mc 140, which does 35 x 4 @ 4ohm. BUT, it doesn't have any kind of gain knobs on it. Now questions: Do i need to buy active crossover for amp? What's the difference between 2 way and 3 way component system? which one is better? Should i keep stock amplifier and add SS mc 140 to it to power alpine and DD? Which wire do I use to get signal for SS amp? thanks
