sorta... you want to have a higher db crossover because it will protect your speaker more but the trade off is less of a blend in between componants example is on my setup when i first had it installed i had the amp crossover at ~90hz and the deck crossover at 100hz. When i played a 20k-20hz sweep there was an ovious break. so i changed my deck crossover to 50hz and uped the amp crossover to ~100hz and added some punch bass boost i got a sound i liked. But one of my speakers tinsil leads broke(im not sure if thats related thou but i took action anyway) so i uped the deck cross to 75hz and lowered the boost
