  1. ok that's tight as hell..just pm me his number if he approves :-D
  2. Sounds good...Just gotta get my phat paycheck this coming monday and It hink I'm gonna roll the dice on it cause you look like you got refs and you been on here a while..only thing I don't like is when things go sour and a scam comes up....I think this will be a smart choice for me and thanks for sending me in that direction...a 3000 that could possibly if I get the notion drop to .5 ohms would be killer if I needed it for a slightly bigger setup
  3. Sounds awesome....now to find one for under 700 that's either brand new or in good working order and will last me!! pm'd ratbass about it too..
  4. Cool cool..Since it runs at 1 ohm unless it's 2600 TRUE watts like the hifonics is a little below that I'm sure then I don't wanna run it...half the reason I think my amp gave out was because I pushed it way too hard..almost full gain setting etc...so I think a Saz3000d or that VFL200.1 would work real nice... again should I still secure it to the box or no? about the vibrations dislodging mosfets...
  5. Looking for quality as well as price..I'm around the 700 and below....running my kickers at 1 ohm so the zx2500.1 is out because I don't want to rewire inside...
  6. Thanks for that...finally a theory that possibly could be the cause..I jsut want to rule out a short because that means if I plug in another amp it's toast too...Since the little amp is clearly working on that same line it can't be a short..especially since that amp is not so good... think I should mount the next amp elsewhere? or is that just long term on the box deal...I'm sure it sees alot of vibration though lol.... I'm thinking about buying a crunch 3000 which will do similar power my bxi2607d did...if not more..
  7. This is VERY true...my box/subs/amps probably adds a good 250+ lbs to the car..that's like having a permanent body in the back...lol...
  8. But who ever said the perfect setup would be cheap lol....gonna have to pay to play...
  9. Not trying to argue cause man I'm past it..I want a new amp now cause as far as I can tell I wanted more out of the amp than it wanted to give...a zx2500.1 will suit my needs better and won't have to be pushed that hard to get them to pound... I just want to say how is connecting the live wire different from at the bat...since the fuse still should pop before that "voltage spike" goes through the fuse and hits the amp...cause no matter what the voltage spike comes from the battery through the fuse and busts it before it hits the amp..no matter where you connect it.. and I don't mean to be ungrateful thank you for all the suggestions on problems I really do appreciate it..I want to know if there really may be a possibility I hook up that zx2500 and blow it as well I'm gonna literally bawl like a little kid....gonna check my wire at the fire wall and at the ground point again to make sure all is well ... assuming it was the amplifiers fault because I got a 300 amp fuse and it did NOT blow when the amp smoked up...so....I assume that there wasn't a voltage spike the amp just was fried already and continued to sizzle when I plugged it in..
  10. Yes I had it hooked up to the BACK battery...I decided to do that because it's just as good of an idea as any...when I hooked up the bat it would have fried it anyways...you have to have safe grounds then you can plug it in...the front battery was not giving any power at all that ground was disconnected.. on a side note, when I plugged it in it lit up the lights..you know how hifonics has lights on the front..it lit up as if the remote turn on wire was on and it was getting power and it was turned on...except the thing fried and the lights shut off and the smoke just puffed out the sides... and one more note on some problems previously...When ever I had "I command you (blanks) to get money" from jeezy was on a little too loud the amp auto went into protect mode while on other songs it played jsut fine really loud
  11. That's impossible though cause I've had the speakers wired the same way on that amp since I had them a year ago on that same amp...it didn't change with the new box...only thing that changed was a new batt added in...I think the amp fried cause I had the bass knob up on a REAL bassy song...you know you can tell how much power your subs are getting with the volume up...well I didn't have the volume up so I didn't notice..the bass knob fed it way too much juice and BAM...it melted something important and it shorted my fuse...I'm s urprised it didn't blown the fuse I had put in lol
  12. Well I know it's a repost but this should help alleviate what went down with it...I think the amp just blew up and I blew up a second time and like totally fried the internals... I pretty much rigged everything up including a new fuse...then as the paint example will show how EVERY piece of wire was done so that anyone can suggest if there was a ground out some where I pushed the power wire in a little...sparked and it made me jump...I figured of course it's gonna spark..everything is grounded right so it's gonna zap a little... I pushed it in harder the second time completely in...BOOM...the amp just spewed smoke from both sides....it's a goner...and if it isn't I give 8 thumbs up to hifonics but I'm not trying that again cause there will probably be a fire... ok here is a paint illustration on how it was wired on all parts of the car as I shoved the power wire into the amp... The reason I believe that there is no accidental shorts is because the little amp is FINE...and still WORKS just GREAT...it doesn't even have a FUSE to protect it other than its own fuses..
  13. Putting 4 subs in your car of that power will be some extremely massive spl....if you want a daily beater I'd reccomend 2 Fi's Ascendants or DD's...or DC's...15's or 18's...18's if you wanna be louder obviously... going with 4 of any of those subs will be way over 3 grand to supplement it with power, and the amps to run not only the speakers but the mids as well...then copper is expensive...and then you need sound deadner as well...The mids will have to be a bunch..can't just stuff 4 speakers in the stock outputs cause your subs will pound way harder than 4 speakers..
  14. Been on here for a while like two years even though my registration doesn't say so...these DC subs REALLY took off...what did DC used to be?? seems to be the popular choice......for everyone lol
  15. Nice....I'm saving for that amp too...them 2500's are sick...I like his headunit it's baller as hell!!!! where can I get one that has a volt reader on it!!
  16. he had to ghost ride that bitch on the hood ROFLLL or is it rearwheel drive? lol
  17. Ok and you're CERTAIN these will get as loud as 15" L7's with a little less cone area and meant for SQ and not SPL??... I do recognize a cheaper sub at the same level but still...bang for your buck.....if you're a poor college student... I overpower the L7's THEY ARE MEANT FOR IT...I've had countless people even from here and realm of excursion tell me they will take an extra 100-200 watts like a champ... I gotta go anyways but I'm just trying to keep everyone from giving kicker a bad name... kicker competes....period...don't spit on them because the SQ is a little beneath your taste
  18. I'm sorry posting the prices is proof not the name...post a link to prices...it takes work to debate on something...... What I can't over power my subs? All the Q's and SSD's should be fully loaded to do full potential correct?...it's 279 for a 15 while it's 240 for a shipped 08 L7
  19. Ok for all those kicker haters, I have had 2 L7's for a year slamming on over 1200 watts to each of them...end of story..just detached the cone but it has been a YEAR....and it is still going after I glued it Everyone has experiences...stop hating on kicker... highschool kids?...man post the subs that will sound as loud as kicker at the same price...damn..more proof please k thx I don't think we need to use these words to describe these subs....there are better, but not for the money...next to maybe some 15" type R's...and I've heard mine sound just as loud and just as hard if not harder... Everyone keeps saying DC...what's the price for a 12" Lvl 4 DC sub?
  20. Ok of course everyone on here has a career and or works full time..I don't have alot of money, so I have 2 15" L7's and they slam hard..detached the cone on one, reglued it, you can hear the noise when the bass knob is up and the volume is down but if not they still hit just as hard rofl...I think it's cause someone mentioned I probably didn't get it centered correctly when glued...anyways really good sub for the money like everyone else is saying...and whoever said you can get better for the same money please post up prices of other subs with the same loudness... sq is a different story....
  21. I'm sorry but with 5k to spend you're gonna be beating hard...like you will want to enter comps for sure...win other subs to play with :-)
  22. 5000 ??????????? lolllllllllllllllllllllllll omg...if I had that kind of budget I'd have 2 18's with the perfect rms to them...they would outslam his x60...but I mean your box is a big deal too...if you can't make a box for 2 18's the 15 is a good idea..
