i meant what i said with common sense applied. don't go painting it with a fn roll on brush or something. keep the coats really really light.

it won't hurt it one bit. i've painted a couple a cones before (not the metal ones though) and it worked fine. how about you just take some aluminum polish and a buffing pad and make them look brand new? used to do it with my old eclipse's and i have an aluminum shift knob and about every 3 months i have to buff and polish it. after i'm done it looks brand new every time. http://www.mothers.com/02_products/05150_b.html go here: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ it'll give you an idea of what you need. aluminum and titanium will polish up just about the same. make sure you mask off the surround.

x2. run an extra ground as well. just from anywhere real quick to see if this helps. just because you have a good metal to metal contact doesn't mean its a good ground. you can leave the ground you have now, just run a temporary one and see if it helps. sounds like bad connection somewhere, either ground or power. also. what size fuse do you have? you might have to small of a fuse on your power wire for your amp. you should have a fuse at least the same amps (fuse rating) of the fuses in your amps. if your amps have 60 amps worth of fuses then you should have at least that much on your power wire.

all of their amps have the clipping light. i have it for my 1200D its the exact same knob just different amp.

just ground your rca's no need for the filters.

do whatever dimensions you have to to get 2-2.5 cu. ft. with out the port and then tune the port to 34 HZ with 12-16 square inches of port per cu. ft.

don't buy a prefab. they are usually tuned to 40 HZ and higher. that hifonics will only do 1000 watts. get the AQ for 249 shipped and it will do 1200 all day.

i run a 2 cu. ft tune to 34 HZ with 13 square inches of port per cu. ft. off of a AQ 1200 D. did a legal 144.8 sealed up in the kick.
