  1. Precisely. If you haven't already don't do that to your amp unless you want to buy another. .5 ohms? That's
  2. If they are hating, then you are doing something right. If you allow them to make you question yourself, then the haters win. Get a dog and an AR and keep it moving!!!
  3. It doesn't matter how BIG the port is, as long as it's tuned to the same frequency. A huge port will need to be longer in order to keep the same tuning. I really believe that big ports can be more efficient, but you end up gobbling up your enclosure space pretty quickly when you start opening the port. In car audio, it's all about Compromise.
  4. We've stuck to the older (proven) Optis so far, but I have had my eye on the Scion amps too. They're a little down on price point from the <08' Opti amps, but I hope Lanzar isn't cutting corners to get there. We get the OPTS600.4 (150 watts RMS x 4 @ 4 Ohms and 240watts RMS x 4 @ 2 ohms) for $156.40, the OPTS300.4 (100 watts RMS x 4 @ 4 Ohms and 160 watts x 4 @ 2 Ohms) for $120 and the OPTS150.4 (50 watts RMS x 4 @ 4 Ohms and 80 watts RMS @ 2 Ohms) for $108. A lot cheaper than the older Optis, but they were lacking a decent 4 channel selection of Optis before so the Scions at least fill a hole in their product lineup. The difference between 2 and 4 Ohm rated output on these amps isn't tremendous, which sometimes indicates an underbuilt output section. For my own systems, I like AB amps that at least try to double their outbut at half the impedance. BUT I have learned through experience that the Optidrives tend to perform a lot better than people expect, so hopefully the new amps will too.
  5. As of now, all of this wire is SOLD! Thanks for looking, guys.
  6. That's about right, JSmoke. The Q-Power wire is pretty big with lots of strands, it just has a stiff jacket. If you want some wire to chop up in the back or some decent primary wire for cheap, then here you go. The Phoenix Digital is probably for those who want to throw a small amp in for cheap. It comes with a lot of terminals and accessories too. Also, keep in mind that the Q-Power wire also comes with 7 extra feet of AudioPipe Platinum 4 gauge. It is the same wire as the AudioPipe kit in this thread. It should come in handy for somebody. The AudioPipe wires are the Platinum series. This is the best 4ga. wiring kit AudioPipe sells. Thick wire, flexible jackets, and nothing cheap in the pack. This is good 4 gauge. I had a few extra ones and this is the last of those. FIRST $100 TAKES IT ALL!!!

  9. I know you're frustrated, Bro; most of us are. However, I believe it is never too late for us to start discussing these things so that we know what to do next time. Believe it or not, guys, this Forum is an extremely powerful tool that can be used either as a "Brain-Pool" for new ideas, or as a way to distribute ideas like this to a lot of people very quickly. You might never know it, but there might be some prettiy influential people on this Forum alone. We have kind of dropped the ball a little, but we know what we need to do. Foreverbumpn, you are NOT the only person who feels this way. Let's try the "Brain-Pool" approach first: Where can we start?
